Chapter 27 - Silk And Spidey

Author's Note: Here's my take on the origin story of Cindy Moon, aka Silk. Some parts are true to the comics but other parts I added/retracted. Anyway, on with the story.

Y/N: "You have spider-powers? And your name is Silk? How did you get powers? Why did I sense you with my Spider-sense? Do we have a psychic connection or something?" You questioned.

Cindy Moon: "Woah, Woah, Woah. One question at a time, Spider-Man. I'll tell you my 'origin story' because I need answers and I guess I can trust you. My name is Cindy Moon."

Y/N: "My name is Y/N L/N." 

Cindy Moon: "When did you get your powers? I was bitten by a radioactive spider when I was 14."

Y/N: "I was bitten by a spider only a couple of months ago and I'm 17."

Cindy Moon: "I'm 17 too. That's cool."

Y/N: "Anyways, you were saying?"

Cindy Moon: "I was just about to start high school when I attended a public exhibition demonstrating the safe handling of nuclear laboratory waste materials. It was sponsored by the General Techtronics Corporation..."

Y/N: 'General Techtronics Corporation? Never heard of them before.' You thought. 'They must only exist in Cindy's dimension.'

Cindy Moon: "...a spider that was irradiated with a particle accelerator was used in the demonstration. It bit my dimension's Spider-Man, Peter Parker, in the hand and bit my ankle before it died."

Y/N: "Your ankle? It just bit my hand, see?" You showed the bite on your (dominant hand). 

Cindy Moon: "Hmm. Interesting." She said before continuing her story. "The first time I found out about my powers was when I uncontrollably shot organic webbing over my dog. But, I used my new super-strength to get him out."

Y/N: "Woah! It must have freaked you out huh?"

Cindy Moon: "Heck yeah it did! However, the rest of my story isn't so pleasant..."

You looked at her solemnly.

Y/N: "W-what happened next?"

Cindy sighed sadly before sitting on a bench by the parking lot. You joined her and ISAAC crawled on the wall behind you and watched the area.

Cindy Moon: "For 3 years of my life, I was on the run from my home from...Morlun. He ruined my life!"

When she said Morlun's name, you shivered and took off your mask.

Y/N: "What--did he...?"

Cindy Moon: "He killed my parents by absorbing their life energy. He tracked me all over New York until I found him 2 years later. I fought him, but now I know that was the dumbest decision I had ever made. I just felt so angry, so vengeful."

Y/N: "You may be surprised but, I went through the same emotions you went through. Last week, I almost killed a she-demon with a horn and wings because she brought up one of my greatest regrets: Uncle Ben..."

CindyMoon: "A she-demon with a horn and wings? Seriously?"

Y/N: "I'm being 100 percent honest. ISAAC, playback recording number 51."

ISAAC hopped in front of you and projected a video on the wall. It played your entire battle versus Midnight Sparkle and stopped right as Daydream Shimmer stopped your fist."

She got up and paced in front of you before stopping.

Cindy Moon: "That's... really real? This isn't some sick joke or something?"
