A/N: Thank you to anyone who is reading this right now, that really means a lot. I'm posting more often (at least for now), so it has time to get out there a little bit. Just remember, this is amateur work and I'm doing my best to improve. It gets better soon, I promise.
Ethan walked into the Cafeteria and immediately spotted her. He walked over and plopped down across from her without saying anything. When she looked up at him he saw her eyes were brown now. It confused him for only a moment. He knew that he hadn't imagined her eye color the other day. There are some things you just can't imagine. "You wore contacts?" He asked her, trying to keep the sudden disappointment from his voice.
She looked back down at her book with careful indifference, trying to re-immerse herself in the story but it was too late. Her mind was now grinding in frustration. Why had he followed her again? She gave up on her book and pulled out her sketchbook instead. She allowed her pencil to carefully create the images of the characters in her mind, something that helped her visualize. Once she finished she studied her work. It was an image of the main character looking fierce with a bow and quiver of arrows on her back. She was staring with determination off in the distance. Some of the proportions were off. She stared at it a little longer and added a few more details before realizing she wasn't the only one looking. Ethan was very obviously watching her. He had leaned across the table and was grinning down at her sketch. Amelia blushed and slammed her sketchbook shut.
Ethan sighed and sat down. "I just wanted to see. We can be friends! You don't need to keep pushing me away." he said indignantly.
Amelia looked at him with hurt in her fake brown eyes. "Yes, I do."
The seriousness in her tone managed to quiet Ethan for a little bit before he said. "Why can't I know! I want to be your friend but you aren't even giving me good reasons to leave you alone! I won't leave you alone until you tell me."
Amelia just stared at him. "It's not that simple! I don't want to risk your life! You act as if this is an easy decision for me to make. You think I want this? That I chose this life?"
Ethan grinned. "Risk my life? So this is an adventure? Like your picture? Now you have to tell me. I've been needing something interesting to break up the boredom."
Amelia just let a sob escape her throat before turning and running, taking her backpack and books with her.
Ethan sighed and deflated. She was probably exaggerating about the life bit but he hadn't been exaggerating about wanting something exciting. He was bored. He needed her secret.
A/N: Yeah I'm also probably exaggerating, but maybe not. Amelia has her reasons, poor thing. Also, yes only one section, it's a longer one though. :)
