A/N: As promised, this one is longer. :)

Amelia hated the look of hurt in his eyes that made her feel so cruel. She wished it didn't have to be this way, but the fight would hopefully make the teachers believe they hadn't been good enough friends for her to tell him about her powers. Plus, she had meant what she said. She needed him out of the way and safe, needed to know that his life wouldn't be in danger.

That afternoon as soon as the bell rang, she walked out of the building and into the woods, she had entered in a different way than she usually did, hoping she wouldn't lead them to her home and her mother. She would not shift no matter what though. She would not give them proof.

Suddenly a boy stepped into the path ahead of her. At first she expected to see Ethan, but this boy was taller and had gray hair and gray eyes. He sniffed the air. "Hmmm, you are a lot smaller than I expected. Prettier too. Look at those eyes. They look almost... magical." Something in his tone made Amelia shiver. She kept her head down and tried to go around him. He just stepped in front of her.

Amelia sighed and looked into his eyes. "I don't know who you are or what you want but I'm not giving you my eyes so I don't think there is any other reason for you to stay."

The boy's mouth curled into a wolfish grin. "I don't believe you. I actually think that you do know. It might even be a reason for me to stay. Why don't I stay here a little longer with you. There really is no reason for us to be leaving." Then he grabbed her wrist.

Amelia tried to tug it free but his grip was strong as iron.

"You are going to come with me slowly and quietly now." He muttered in her ear. "And no shifting. I can sniff you out. Your magic is pretty strong and easy to pick out."

Amelia held in a gasp, not about his knowledge of her powers, but over the fact that he had his own! And he was working for the poachers! He should know best! Maybe she could find a weak spot and get some sympathy from him. "How did they get you to join them?" she asked. "Did they kill your family members one by one until you gave in?"

The boy growled. "When I was young, I couldn't control my gifts. I would change in front of people, sometimes I would even eat them. I murdered an entire town once. They hated me, and I hated them. So when the poachers said they would take me in, save me, teach me to use my powers, it was the life I needed. My parents are dead. I killed them in my first shifting."

"You are a werewolf then? And it makes you feel better to know you can kill other magical beings for them?" She questioned, rattled by his story.

"I will give you a chance to join us but if you say no then you are just as bad as the kids from my town." He said coldly.

Amelia glared at him. "That doesn't even make sense!"

"You are criticizing me even now!"

"I'm questioning your life choices! That has nothing to do with your powers!"

"My life choices are not yours to question."

"Well if they mean I'm probably gonna die, then yeah, I think they are."

The boy slid his hand over her mouth to stop her from talking. "My name is Jason." He said.

That was all he said for the next 20 minutes as they continued to walk through the trees until finally Amelia gasped and broke away from him. "My house!" When they came into the clearing where Amelia's little house was kept. It was swarming with poachers.

Poachers usually are only seen in their 'in the field' outfit. It has a tight long sleeve shirt and leggings, A utility belt with items that help with the capture of magical beings (They bring different tools for different occasions), and goggles which are both night vision and aid in seeing magic. They give magic a sort of shimmery glow that is hard to see. They have large motorcycle helmets over their glasses to protect their heads and a bullet-and-magic-proof vest that says Magical Police on it.

Just about one of the most terrifying things you can imagine. Amelia's mother was locked up in their sleek, black, car as a hostage in case Amelia planned to misbehave. They were in the process of carrying a torch over to burn Amelia's house and all of her possessions. Amelia's breath came in quick, short gasps. Her life was ripped away again and this time she was getting ripped away with it.

The poachers turned instantly when they heard Jason and Amelia's approach. They all returned to their work except one with a gold star on the back of their helmet. "Are you going to come quietly or do we need to have a talk with your mother," He said to Amelia with a gruff voice.

Amelia lowered her head. Her mother was innocent. "I will come quietly. There is no need for violence.

The Man nodded as if he had suspected this. "Take her into the car, your turn to drive."

Jason nodded and dragged Amelia over to the edge of the clearing. Amelia expected to be in the same car as her mother because there wasn't any other one in sight. Jason walked her over to an empty place beside the first car and kicked the air.

Another car appeared and he opened it up and tossed her in where the seat belts buckled her up. She couldn't tell if it was magic or just really good technology. It looked almost like the inside of a taxi with the solid, opaque, black wall separating her compartment from the driver area. An image appeared on it, first showing the poachers Logo. An eagle with a magic wand in one claw and a magnifying glass in the other. It had the motto "Custodire ab periculum," or "Protect from peril." Then it disappeared and a man appeared that Amelia had only heard of. The head of the Poachers. His hair was curly, brown, an greasy. He had a mask covering the lower half of his face with only a gap to breathe. Even with the mask, she could imagine the cruel smile he had on right now. "Hello Amelia, I am quite impressed with your powers. I am simply a pre-recorded video so do not try to speak with me. I am going to warn you. When you arrive at our headquarters you will be faced with a choice. You can join us, or be kept in our... cell. Your powers are exceptional and if you will not use them to help us you will at least be interesting to look at. Keep in mind. If you do join us, your thoughts will be monitored and you will be killed instantly if anything treasonous to the police appears in your mind. Be ready to give your answer. Oh and one more thing. Don't worry about the ride. It will be a little rough." Then the screen disappeared.

The car started to rise in some form of stored magic. It sped away so fast that she knew they must be going somewhere far away. They rode in silence for only an hour before the Washington monument and the Lincoln memorial reflecting pool came into view. The car was fast! Amelia rolled her eyes. Typical secret organization. Making their 'lair' under the reflecting pool. She expected him to drive right in but instead he went to a parking lot. It probably made sense because driving into the reflecting pool would certainly draw a lot of attention. He went to pay for the parking space and left me in the car. I tried to jiggle the handle but I wasn't trained in lock picking and these were definitely good locks. Jason was back already. He opened the driver's door of the car and got in instead of helping Amelia out. She was about to ask why when suddenly the floor dropped out below them. Amelia dropped her brave mask and screamed.

A/N: Told you that was a lot!
