Damn

I was feeling pretty proud of myself for beating Jumping Flash in under thirty minutes. So I looked at the soeedrunning page for the game, and there's people beating it at an ungodly speed.

In regular mode, the minimum is about 15 to 19 minutes.

In extra, it's like 12.

And then in super mode, the highest record is 6 fucking minutes.

I had some kind of crisis trying to figure out how in the hell such a time was possible. Each world takes about 2 minutes or so to beat, just a random estimate. And for the boss, depending on how high you jump and how many weapons you use, you can finish it in either 50 seconds or a minute. But maybe it depends on skill, I don't know. The six minute record was probably done by a grown man who's used to breaking their thumbs, and he's probably played the game way too many times to be considered normal.

I think I kinda cheated. I lost a life in the third level and I kept going. I don't think I was supposed to do that, and that might've added on to my time since it takes a while for the level to start again.

And there's also the time I wasted trying to stop the stopwatch.

I'll try again this afternoon and see how much I improved or whatnot.
