The Closer

I feel heavy, my body feels to heavy for my soul and so badly, I want to be free from the thing that holds me down to the earth and I really don't know why. There something about a man that I love and cherish, but there something wrong with him, but I don't remember what's wrong with him. "Nova, wake up," a male voice says, but I don't know this voice or do I?

Something moves around in my mind. "Is someone there?" I call out, as flames start to form around me. A wolf looks at me, it walks back and forth like a caged animal; I don't fear it like I probably should. It yips at me, like its talking to me and then it moves it's head for me to follow it. "I don't understand, you want me to follow you?" it shakes its head and then turns and starts to move slowly forward.

Quickly I catch up, walking beside it.

"Nova, I'm so sorry, please wake up babe." The male voice says.

The wolf barks softly at the voice and then nudges me, like I should know something. "I don't understand, what's going on?" I ask the wolf, like it can tell me.

We come up to two big double doors and then a woman in a wedding dress stand before it, looking like a ghost. "Nova, my baby," the woman says softly, smiling at me, but I don't return the smile. "You don't remember?" I shake my head and she exhales like a weight has been placed on her shoulders. "So much has happened in your short life and so much more will happen." She tells me and then she comes closer and I don't know why, but I'm not scared of her, all I want her to do is hug me and tell me she loves me.

"Who are you?"

She smiles softly at me. "I'm your mom," she ten kisses me on the forehead. "It's time to wake up, Austin is at his wit ends worrying about you. When you wake up, you'll remember everything."

"But why can't I remember anything now?"

She keeps smiling at me, as she moves my hair out of my eyes. "It's okay to be a little lost Nova, that way we do gain something we didn't have before that we needed."

"And what is it, that I needed?" I ask her, as she holds out her hand to the wolf by me.

"Time for your body become one thing and not two things anymore. You will no longer be able to shift into two different forms, now you'll only be able to shift into one form." She holds out her hand to the wolf and the wolf body becomes a ball in her hand and then she puts it in my chest. The feeling that is now in my chest feels heavy. "I'm so proud of you Nova, and I'm proud of who you have become," she then hugs me and for a ghost, she feels like flesh and blood. "Thank you for making me a grandma again." Then light over comes me and I'm taken from the dark place that only is light by flames and I'm taken from my mom.

Light takes over the darkness and soon I'm no longer trapped in my own mind. All my memories come back to me, I remember who I am, who my family is, who my mate is and what standing I have in our pack. I am Luna.

Austin is asleep, hunched over next to me, he's holding my hand. Looking around, we are in a hospital room. Then something catches my eye, my stomach bigger then it was before. Like a few months bigger. Austin stirs in his sleep, making me look away from my stomach to him. "Nova," he whispers like saying my name pains him somehow. "Come back," he says.

Smiling at him, I take my hand from his and then run my fingers through his hair. His longer then it was before, and his face is unshaved by a good few months. Not going to lie, he looks pretty good with the face hair he has going on. "Austin," I say softly, but he doesn't stir. "Austin open your eyes, don't make me be mean to you." I tell him.

He grunts and curls up more on himself, like he's protecting himself somehow. "Come home," he whispers.

"I am home," I tell him, but he still doesn't stir. "Austin wake up," still nothing. "If you don't wake up, I'm running away to candy land and leaving your butt here, so I'll get everything good tasting and you won't get any." And again, still nothing. Groaning, I grab the pillow behind me and not so nicely I smack him in the head with the pillow and up like a shot, he sits up like he was just slapped.

"Who? What? Where?" he asks looking around and then his eyes zone in on my face and then all the air is taken out of my lungs, as he hugs me close to him and then he starts to cry into my hair. His body shakes valiantly. "Your awake, your finally awake." He whimpers out.

His grip on me gets to tight, so I end up tapping his arm. "Austin ease up, I'm losing air." I tell him.

He instantly eases up and then pulls back and looks down at me, then rests his forehead against mine. "You scared the shit out of me," he whispers. "I had a horrible nightmare that you wouldn't wake up, you would have the baby and still be out of it and then I ended up raising our baby by myself and it was a mess Nova. There was so many diapers and so many nights of crying myself to sleep, because at every day I'm at my braking point and I couldn't stand the idea of messing up our kid and not having you with me, where I could hold you and we could laugh and cry on our screw ups we did together."

Smiling at him, I kiss him quickly. "Mom didn't want to keep me away I guess and there something else." He leans back and searches my face for the news before I can say it. "She took away my ability to half shift, I'm just like you and everyone now. No more half shifting for anyone in the family." Resting my hand on my belly, I look at it as I feel the little life in me stir. "This little one will never have to live with what I or anyone of my family had to go through."

He kisses me on the forehead. "Your perfect in anyway you are, and our baby is perfect."

"Do you know what we are having?"

He shakes his head and as he does, the door opens and in walks my dad, Cody and Maria. Tears, fill their eyes and its like they can't move fast enough to get to me to hug me and hold me. We all cry together, their voices lap over one another as they say they didn't know if I would ever wake up again.

After a good five minutes I'm finally free of being hugged to death, but everyone hovers closely, as if they are afraid to get to far from me, just in case something else happens. "So what's happened?" I ask them.

"Well I'm going to be a grandpa clearly," dad says looking me over with a grin, only for Maria to slug his arm and he acts hurt just for her. "Okay, let me say it the right way." He says to her and then looks to me with a smile. "A grandpa again," he looks down at her. "Better?" she shakes her head approvingly.

"I found my mate," Cody tells us and he looks so proud that it almost makes me sick.

"I'm glad," I tell him, smiling ear to ear, happy my brother finally has someone.

Maria gets up on the bed and puts her hand on my stomach. "So I'm going to be a big sister?" shaking my head she grins big and then hugs my stomach, and in response of movement from the baby. She turns her head and smiles up at me. "I think the baby likes me."

A few months later, Austin and I welcome a baby boy into the world, we name him Oliver Phillip. Our pack is strong and our family along with it. What the future has in store for us, we can only guess. But the future is far from my mind right now, because the here and now, is what matters the most.
