CHAPTER 11

"Hoo! That was tight!"

"Close."

Nag-apir sina Rey at Andrew na nakasalampak sa sahig at hingal na hingal na nagtatawanan.

Malalalim ang hingang umupo ako galing sa pagkakahiga. I tried catching my breath again as I watched my groupmates heaving along with me.

My eyes immediately went to Selene. Pinasahan agad siya ng tubig ni Dok Cheska na agad niyang tinungga. Her ponytail is quite messy because of the aggressive movements we did for the training and her face all sweaty, but she managed to still look beautiful despite it.

Nagkasalubong ang mga mata namin. Ngunit parang wala lang niyang iniwas ang tingin sa akin at muling uminom ng tubig. As if I was no one and a person much lower than the perfect figure that she is. Napapikit ako at humiga muli sa sahig.

She has been different after that encounter. Really different.

"You cheaters."

"Just admit your defeat, Morgan." Tatawa tawang sabi ni Rey. Dinilat ko ang mga mata at nakita si Morgan na nirolyo lang ang mga mata sa inis. She stood up and wiped the sweat that's covering her striking features with a towel passed by the chuckling Doc Cheska beside her.

"Kung hindi mo ako ginamitan ng rarus and just pure physical fight, I would've taken the freaking dummy and saved her from jerks like you." She haughtily retorted with her hands on her hips.

Andrew scrunched his nose up in distaste. "Morgie, you just have to accept that no matter what you say, our team still won." At muli silang nag high five ni Rey.

"Besides, if this was reality, we would also have used our rarus to fight off an enemy. This is training for the real deal, honey." Nakangisi nitong pagpapatuloy.

"Gross. I'd rather be called a biatch than you calling me those names. And for what it's worth, you're just advantaged because Jin is in your team."

"If that makes you sleep at night, then fine."

"Jerk!" Umalolong ang malakas na tawa ni Andrew sa buong training hall na sinundan naman ni Rey.

Morgan went out of the room, stomping on the floor with irritation still all over her face. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako. But I have to agree with the fact that that was really close. Muntikan na kaming manalo.

We were divided into two groups for this group training session. Us, girls versus them, the guys. The catch was to rescue the girl, which was a dummy, inside a burning cage without a key. Kung sino ang mauunang maka rescue at makadala sa babae sa safe circle, which is on the other side of the training hall, wins today's session.

I mean, wala namang prize but they definitely take more pleasure with having the bragging rights. Which was why Morgan was seriously pissed. Turns out, these group trainings have always been a big deal for them.

At sa totoo lang, muntikan na talaga kaming manalo. I had the chance to take the dummy from Rey, but I was robbed of it.

My eyes trained back to Selene. She sat down on the lone couch at the corner cross legged. Walang emosyon na nakatingin sa harap at maayos na nakaupo. Like a Princess waiting for her servants to praise and serve her.

Hindi ko na mapigilang makaramdam ng inis sa kaniya. What she did was unnecessarily childish and petty. Hindi ako maka get over sa ideya that she would go for such low heights just to prove how she owns someone that I'm not even trying to take away from her.

"Okay, guys. Let's take a break."

Anunsyo ni Dok Cheska na sinang-ayunan naman ng lahat. But I almost groaned.
