I walk into the cafe and Alex is already there, he doesn't even glance at me as I walk in.

"Where's Mary?" I ask

"Not here" he grumbles and i roll my eyes

"No shit" i mumble

This is going to be a long shift.

I make my way into the back and I put my bag and phone away before heading out behind the bar.

"Clean the coffee machines, clean the windows and then I'll teach you how to make the pumpkin latte" he says

"Yes boss" i say and I see him roll his eyes at me.

God is he still cranky at me for yesterday?

It's been two hours and he's only jus now showing me how to make this fucking latte.

"How was your date?" He asks me and he gets the ingredients out from the cupboards

"Shit, I called Luca to come and get me" i say

"That's Izzy's dad right?" He asks and i nod

"You've not met her parents?" I ask and he shakes his head

"No" he says

"Can we draw a line under yesterday? I was stressed and you were cranky probably at my lack of skill at the job and we just kind of blew up at each other" i say and he nods

"Sounds good to me" he says and i nod

"Ella, your not awful at this job. Or at anything really. Your hearts in the right place and that's what matters. You just need to fucking listen to me"

"I'm so tired" I say before yawning

"Have a nap on your break" he says

"No, i won't be able to wake back up again without being all drowsy" i say and he nods

"Well we only have two hours before the end of the shift, do you need a lift home?" He asks me

"If you don't mind" I say

"No I'm not bothered, I just need to stop off at target on the way though"

"Okay, what for?" I ask

"It's my friends birthday, they are doing a party for him and every year he asks for chocolate so that's what I'm getting him" he says and i smile

"I've not had chocolate in years" i say

"What?" He asks shocked, "why?"

"Because my mum wouldn't buy it at the shops and my life is super busy so I never had chance of actually goings and buying some" i say

"Well I'm getting you some" he says and i smile

"You don't have to" I say

"Shut up Ella im not going to be getting you anything expensive" he says and i laugh

"Is Lydia alright?" He asks me and we walk into target

"Yeah why?" I ask

"Luke was shouting at her cause she broke up with him, it sounded bad" he says

"She's alright, she's good actually. She feels much better now she's broken up with him" i say

"Why did she break up with him, I thought they were close" he says

"They were its just the drifted apart over time and just dated for the sake of it and didn't date because they wanted to" i tell him, "reminds me of you and Jenny"

"You know we broke up"

"I know, Issac told me" i say and he doesn't say anything

I look up at him and look away, "so where's this chocolate?"

"Right here" he says stopping and he picks up a bar and I glance around and my eyes land on a purple wrapper and i gaps

"Milka!" I say excitedly and I pick it up

"Have you had this?" I ask him

"No" he says

"Oh my god it's the best chocolate you will everything have, it always reminds me of holiday! I got it in the airport on my first holiday" i ramble and he has an amused expression on his face, "it's the best chocolate ever! Can we get it?!"

He just watches me and i flail around the isle excitedly, jumping up and down slightly

"Come on" he says grabbing some chocolate and taking the one from my hand and I follow him to the tills

"Oh I can pay for my own" i say and he just ignores me

"I said I can pay for my own" i say slightly louder

"And I heard you" he tells me

"Five dollars" the woman says and he gets dove dollars out and hands it to her

"Come on points system" he says walking away and i run to catch up with him but it takes me longer since he had such long legs.

"God your a giant" i say

"Speak up I can't hear you from down there" he says and I glare at him making him laugh

We walk out of the shop and get into his car.

"Here" he says handing me the chocolate

"Now" i say opening it, "this chocolate is like gods creation. It's the best thing you'll ever taste"

"I doubt that" he says and I glance at him to see a smile plastered on his face

I snap off a strip and give it to him.

I watch him as he eats it and he looks at me, "it's alright"

"Alright?" I repeat

"Yeah it's just alright" He says and i narrow my eyes at him

"It's better than alright, it's amazing" i say

"Sure" he says before starting up his car

I shake my head at him, "that's ruined my day"

"Good for you" he says and I glare at him

"What will I take for you to be nice to me?" I ask him

"I am nice to you" he says

I cross my arms, "yeah and pigs fly"

"We'll take or leave it" he says

"I'll take it" i mumble quietly and I see him smile
