"That was amazing!" Kaya says and i smile

"Thank you!" I say

"That was brilliant Ella, well done" Miss Wilson says with a big smile on her face

"Thank you so much" I say

"Ella! Our little star!" Mr Martin and Mr Smith say walking towards me dancing and we all laugh

"You were amazing, you covered such a wide range of topics and your confidence was of the scales!" Mr Smith says and my phone buzzes

I pull it out to see my dad ringing me, "I'm sorry I've got to take this it's my dad"

"Is he watching?" Miss Wilson asks me and i nod

"Yeah he is" i say before walking away

"Hey dad" i say

"Lily! You were amazing!" He says and I hear cheering in the background and muffled noises

"We're all so proud of you, your mother says you were flawless" he tells me

"Aww thank you" i say, "you don't think I went off topic a bit? I think I did"

"It doesn't matter Lily, even if you did. You made people think and that's what matters when you give a speech. You might have just influenced hundreds of people's minds to change the way they act and encourage them to help and get involved" he says and i smile

"Do you think I can win?" I ask him, "I'm not bothered if I win or lose but the school really want a win"

"I think you've got it in the bag lil, your confidence was on another scale compared to everyone else in your category. You could just tell from the moment you walked on stage. I'm so proud of you sweetheart" he says

"Thank you so much dad, I love you" i say

"I love you too" he says

"Oh my god you were amazing!" Thea says and i smile as I reach them

"At first I was like oh not his if going to drag like the rest of them" Lydia begins, "but it was actually really interesting and it actually makes me want to get involved"

"Do you think it was too complicated?" I ask

"No, you explained it all very well and kept it all simple enough for people to understand" Luca says with a smile

"Great!" I say before glancing at Alex who is talking to Olly and Izzy.

"So can I go home now or not?" I ask and Thea shakes her head

"I don't think so, there's an awards ceremony" she says and I groan sitting down next to Lydia.

"I was wondering if I could spend the weekend at home well, with mum and dad and stuff?" I ask Luca and he looks at Thea

"I mean, I don't see why not but you won't be able to go anywhere" Luca says

"That's alright, I'm just missing them that's all" I say and Thea smiles

"It's alright sweetheart, it's normal to miss them" she says and i nod.

It's been an hour and I'm just sitting here waiting for them to read out my result.

Kaya got second place and Mr Martin was very happy.

"And the winner in the senior category is, Ella Scott!"

Everyone cheers and starts clapping.

"Ayyy!" Lydia says and i smile

I stand up and make my way up to the front.

"Congratulations Ella" Mr Atkinson says

"Thank you sir" i say shaking his hand and he hands me a certificate.

All that for a certificate.

For the next ten minutes I get my picture taken and then everyone starts to leave.

I yawn and Alex walks up to me, "what's up skinny bitch?"

I laugh and he just smiles.

"Congratulations, you were... not awful" he says

"Thanks Alex" i say

"Are you working this weekend?" He asks me

"Sunday" i say and he nods

"Well, I'll see you then. And here" he says giving me the rest of the chocolate bar, "that's better then that certificate"

He walks away and i just stare after him with a chocolate bar in one hand and a certificate in the other.
