Fourty One

I've been on FaceTime with Alex for hours.

I've been in England for a day now and he's just helping me keep my mind off everything.

"What time is it over there?" I ask him

"One in the afternoon" he says and I hear a bark at the door

"One second" i say

I open my door and my dog Freddo, bounds into my room and onto my bed.

I lie down on my bed and see Alex on my computer, "Alex this is my dog, Freddo"

"Freddo?" He repeats

"Yes, Freddo. He's been in a sulk for days because I left him but he's alright once I kept giving him treats" I say and he laughs

Freddo lies next to me and in seconds he's alseep.

"How have you been?" He asks me

"I've been alright, it will be tough tomorrow though. It's all I see, all I think about, it's all over the news. Everyone's talking about it, I just don't know what to do" I say

"If you feel yourself panicking, just breathe and think of me" he says and I look at him unamused and he laughs

"Is it still snowing over there?" I ask

"Yeah, what about you?" He asks

"Rain, all day... everyday" i grumble and he laughs sadly at me

"It's not funny Alex! All I want is snow, and I get it and then this all happens" I say and he frowns

"I'll save some for you when you come back" he says and i smile

"Why thank you" i say

"I won't be able to give you your Christmas present" he says

"You didn't have to get me anything" I say

"I know but I did" he says

"Save it as a birthday present" i say

"When's your birthday" he asks

"Second of April" i say

"That's mine as well" he says and I laugh

"Well that's going to be easy for me to remember" I say and he chuckles

"Lily, dinner is ready" Lizzie says

"Okay" i say

I turn to Alex, "I've got to go"

"Okay, I'll talk to you tomorrow" he says and i nod

"Bye"

"Bye"

He hangs up and I close my computer.

"Come on freddo" i say and he sits up with a jolt, "dinner"

It's now the day of the funeral.

Izzy and Lydia called me this morning to check if I was okay but I'm definitely not.

We got given an option to walk behind the coffin, obviously my grandma at her old age can't. But I said to Leo, Emma and Lizzie that I'd walk i they walk.

So that's what we're doing.

Thousands of people have gathered around the gates to pay their respects and i hear Lizzie sniffle.

I hold my hand out for her and she takes it, "it's going to be okay"

She nods and I look forward to see a camera, right I forgot this is being live streamed.

God i bet I look a mess.

Alex's pov

I'm in the care home watching the funeral, it's being live streamed which I think is really weird.

"There they are" Ryan says and I look to the screen to see Lily walking behind the coffin, I know it's a funeral but she's looks beautiful.

"Do they have to walk behind?" Ali asks

"Out of respect they get an option" Mike says

I turn my attention back to the screen, "here we have the future queen of England and her siblings playing their respects to their grandfather"

I can't help but keep my gaze on Lily who looks down at Lizzie and tells her something and she picks her up and carries her as she's walking and Lizzie cries into her shoulder and I see Lily tear up.

She closes her eyes before hugging Lizzie tighter.

"How far do they have to walk?" Ryan asks

"I don't know" Emily says

"Credits to Lily though, she's in heals i bet her feet are killing her" Ali says

"I think she isn't bothered about weather her feet are hurting her, Ali" i say

"Right... sorry" she says

"It's difficult for us to relate, we don't have an family" Will says

"We have each other, families are overrated" Ryan says

"Lily looks beautiful" Emily says

"She does" i say and they all look at me

"What's going on between you two?" Emily asks

"I don't know" I admit

"well have you kissed?" Will asks

"Yes"

"Have you had sex?" Ryan asks

"No"

"Do you talk a lot?" Ali asks

"Recently, more than usual" i say

"Then make a move!" Will says

"She's in England, what am I meant to do?" I ask

"Make a move after England" Will says and I roll my eyes
