After my encounter with the revenants on Shang Tsung's island, I had no memory of what happened. When I woke up, I was still trying to gather my senses. The brown canvas before me turned into a wood-walled ceiling as my vision became clear. I had never seen this place before, yet, it felt so familiar.
While I was trying to get up, a pretty solid object hit me : it was Kronika's crown. I had no doubt it was the crown who got me in this place, but at the same time it could be Kronika's doing. I took the crown and started walking around while holding it under my armpit.
In the distance, I spotted Jade, who was also unconscious, but there was no sign of Liu Kang and Kung Lao. I'm not going to lie to you, I'm starting to get used to all these weird situations that happened to me ever since that giant storm at the Koliseum.
Jade :Don't you dare go anywhere.
Jade finally woke up from her deadly nap. Maybe she can enlighten me on what happened exactly.
Jade :I don't know what you did with the crown, and I don't know what is it you intend to do with it, but I swear if you try to do anything stupid again I will kill you.
Mileena :And here I thought you were the one who got us in this place. You have no idea about what happened earlier don't you?
Jade : I thought you were the one behind this trick.
Turns out we were both clueless.
Now that I think about it, this is the first time I have found myself alone with Jade, in a situation that does not include any fight to death. I know I'm the last person she wants alive right now. Not even Raiden is up on the list here. Maybe if I try to friend her a little, this situation might feel less awkward-
Mileena : How's your shoulder ?
What's wrong with me? I'm the one who hurt her. That was so dumb.
Jade :I should be asking you this. You cannibal. Can't stop eating every moving thing you see.
Her answer was so predictable.
Suddenly, we could hear a noise coming from above. It's as if something was falling from the sky, or rather someone. Jade and I put our differences aside and decided to find a hiding spot. Once the person landed, Jade and I looked up to see who it was.
Turns out, we could see two people.

At my surprise, it was two people that Jade and I both knew : Kotal and Skarlet.
Jade : Should we intervene ?
Mileena : I prefer to bet on who's going to win. And I think it's going to be Kotal.
Jade : What makes you think that ?
Mileena : My guess is, we've been teleported into the future. From what I can see, this is the same Skarlet I saw at the Koliseum. She hasn't changed a bit. While Kotal on the other hand is the new Kahn of Outworld and must have become stronger in all those years. He clearly has more experience than her.
Jade : You're not as dumb as people say.
I could feel her smirk, even behind her mask. We had to think of a plan to escape without them noticing us.
However, I have a feeling their fight is going to be interesting.
