Guess what day it was? If you guessed one of the most important days of my career as a fashion designer then you are on the right track. My big day was finally here and I was going to be able to showcase my works to everyone. I had been working so hard the last few months getting ready and I prayed that it was successful. I could not handle failure when I had been planning this for so long and out so much effort into it. It had to be absolutely perfect.
I had been at the venue all day making sure that everything was set up perfectly. My mom had been here too but she'd left to go get ready. It was an hour till the beginning of the show and my nerves were starting to show. I'd spent the last week training the girls and boys on their walks and poses and no matter how hard it had been training kids younger than ten years old but it had been so worth it.
I was currently on the rooftop double checking everything. I'd hired the best catering business in the city and with how much they cost they had better deliver the best. The food and drinks were ready. It was an open bar with a few finger foods but there would be the main course meal later on. I had invested so much into having the perfect night but only because I knew that the success I would reap from it would be so worth it.
After doing my rounds making sure everything everyone as okay I decided to take a few minutes to myself before I went back downstairs. I stood at the furthest corner looking out into the city skyline and enjoying being a tiny part of such a great creation. It floored me just how everyone co-existed so well in such a big city. It was just amazing.
"Remind you of any particular night?" A husky voice asked behind me.
I didn't have to turn around to know who it was. The way his shadow fell over me was so familiar and there was no way I could miss the scent of his cologne because I bought it for him.
"A definite yes." I replied turning around to face David.
There was no way I would ever forget the most romantic night of my life. That memory was embedded into my brain and my heart forever.
David looked handsome in his all black outfit with kitenge prints outlines in the shirt pocket and in a line in the middle. Black loafers and good accessories completed the look.
"You look like a Nigerian prince." I complimented him my hands on his chest as I looked up at him.
He leaned in and captured my lips in a shirt sweet kiss that had my toes curling in my shoes. Dang! The man could kiss.
"All thanks to my queen." He replied kissing my forehead.
I'd custom made a few outfits for him and I had to say it was pretty fun dressing him up. That and the fact that finding anything in his size was not easy.
I fell into him my head in his chest and he wrapped his hands around me. I buried my face into his chest and took a deep breath taking in his masculine scent and it calmed me immediately. In his embrace I was home.
"How come you're here so early?" I asked him.
"I had to drop of Elena first and George asked me to keep and eye on you since he's in charge of security today and doesn't want you on your own." He explained.
"Oh that's okay. I'm just glad that you're here." I said tightening my arms around him.
"Are you okay baby?" He asked hugging me tighter just like I wanted him to.
