I was pacing in my living room most probably wearing out my expensive carpet as I waited for David to arrive. It was four days before the event and I hadn't gathered the courage to ask him to come with me. I had also been avoiding him and he had noticed. That's why he was coming over and he had warmed me that he better find me home or else. I could tell he was pissed at me for avoiding him but I didn't know what to do. We had definitely grown closer but I think David saw me more as the little sister he had to protect than the woman he would marry some day.

I mean ever since we began talking our conversations were centered on getting to know each other. He never made a move to hit on me or ask me out. There had never been any romance between us. Maybe it was all in my head. But how could it be considering that if it was any other guy he would be all over me already. Though this was David we were talking about, the most caring and thoughtful guy to exist. Maybe I had to give him some hints that I wanted more than a regular friendship. But how would I do that when I have never been in a relationship before. I could ask Kim for some advice but she usually took everything out of context. What other choice did I have anyway? It was either her or the twins and I could never rely on the twins. I'd call Kim as soon as I talked to David.

"You're interrupting my game." George said and I almost jumped out of my skin.

I glared at him holding my hand over my heart.

"You scared me. I thought you left an hour ago." I replied.

"I've been here the whole time watching you pace all over the room and mumble to yourself. It was fun at first but you need to stop now. I need to concentrate on the game." He replied.

"You have the same TV with the same channels at your place go watch the game there. You need to leave anyway. David is coming over. And don't stand guard on the other side of the door. I know you followed us the other time when we went to KFC." I said.

"Me? No I did not." He replied looking very guilty as he stumbled over his words.

"Yes you did. You followed us with the BMW." I replied.

"Okay fine I did but I was doing my job."He retorted.

"Use all the excuses you want but I expected you to at least trust me enough to take care of myself or at least tell me you'd be tailing me. You made me think you trusted me." I said feeling a little sad.

"Sweet cheeks I love you like a daughter but your safety come first before your feelings so before you get all mad at me for no reason just know that I wouldn't be good at my job if I let you go all the way across town with a guy I barely know. I trust you but I don't know him well enough to trust him." He explained.

"Okay fine but can you leave now he will be here any minute." I requested.

"Okay fine but I'm taking this."He said grabbing the box of pizza we had ordered for lunch.

"I didn't eat yet." I grumbled.

"Then fix something up for yourself and lover boy." He said before leaving.

He was right. I could make some food for us. A man on a full stomach is easier to appease than a hungry one. With that thought in mind I walked into the kitchen and began making a meal that would be quick and simple to make but still be delicious.

An hour later I was dressed, food was ready and David still hadn't arrived. Maybe he had pranked me and wasn't really coming. Or maybe he had been in an accident and was stranded in a ditch somewhere bleeding to death. I really needed to stop watching some movies with George. They were making my imagination run wild.

I decided to get my phone from the living room and check on him. I got up from the kitchen stool and straightened my shorts. I was wearing a pair of camouflage shorts that reached just under my butt, a matching thin strapped crop top and a pair of brown strapped sandals. My hair was in a pony tail with a few cute tendrils hanging over my face. I had no make up on besides some lip gloss. It was simple enough but still elegant.
