CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Gale's POV

I sat in my chair, smiling to myself still replaying the scene of what happened earlier this morning. On my way to work, I stopped by the hospital to see Lexi and when I was leaving, she gifted me with the best kiss that I'd ever had. It was even better than the one we shared three nights ago.

My Lexi was getting better by day, looking even healthier than before. The doctor said she should be able to go home soon and that's good news. I couldn't wait for her to leave the hospital, she'd been cooped up in that room for too long. Walking outside and feeling the sun on her skin could be good for her.

"May I come in?" Dave said and I almost fell out of my chair. Things have been a little awkward between us since Lexi and I started dating, especially because he doesn't know about it.

"Oh..I didn't see you there. Come in" I said as I sat up straight.

"How would you see me when you were obviously daydreaming?" He laughed as he sat in front of me.

"So, how uh..how can I help you?" I said, then realized how formal I sounded.

"How can you help me?" He asked, still laughing a bit.

"I know, that was a bit awkward" I chuckled.

"Anyway, I wanted to know if there has been any update about Aiden's case?"

"Right. Not yet, but Larry and I are going on patrol later so I'll let you know if we find anything."

"Okay, now about my sister..."

"Your sister?"

"Yes. My sister, what's up with you two?"

"What're you talking about?"

"Come on, don't lie to me. I know there's something going on between you two so don't even try to deny it."

"Did Alexa tell you anything?"

"No, but she asked me that same question." he raised his brow and leaned closer "Are you two dating?"

I was thinking of what to say when Larry burst into my office, providing the best excuse. "Sir, we have a situation."

"What is it?."

"Its the accomplice of Josie sir."

"Sophie?."

"Yes. She tried to commit suicide."

"What?!" Dave got up and walked towards Larry "where is she now?"

"We've taken her to the hospital."

"Good. Have someone stay with her at all times in case she tries anything."

"Yes sir" he walked out and I turned to Dave and saw that he looked disturbed.

"Is something wrong?"

"I hope not. Its just that it seems a bit suspicious, I mean she didn't try to kill herself since so why now?"

"What's your point?"

"According to Alexa's dream, Josie is apparently taking people's life to gain more power and no one knows where they are."

"Yeah?" I still didn't quite understand what he was getting at. Sometimes, you'd think he was a cop because of the way he thinks.

"What if, this was all a plan for her to escape?. You and I know they're taking her to the community hospital, so what if they know too?. What if they asked her to hurt herself so they could rescue her once she's at the hospital."

"Wow. You're right"

"Possibly."

"Well I have a plan."
