CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

"You asked to see me mistress?"

"Yes. Morris I have an assignment for you."

"What is it you want me to do?"

"I had a vision last night. I saw someone, a very powerful person. Almost as powerful as Alexa but I don't know who that person is, I don't even know if its a boy or a girl. All I know is that we need to find that person before Alexa does."

"Okay mistress. If I may be so bold to ask, what was your vision about?"

"All you need to know is that if that person teams up with Alexa, we're doomed. So find me that person, and when you do, you'll be greatly rewarded."

"As you wish mistress. What do I need to do?"

"Before you leave, I'll give you a ring. That ring will help you complete your mission."

"I'll be back by sunset to collect the ring."

"Very well."

Alexa's POV

I was so excited to be leaving the hospital. The doctor said I was fully ok and that I was free to do whatever I wanted, I packed all my clothes and waited for mom to come get me.

I had asked penny, my nurse if I could get some boxes to put my things. Looking around now, it kinda looked like I was moving out of my house. Two boxes were filled with flowers from Gale, another one was filled with teddy bears of different sizes, also from gale. The remaining two boxes contained books, toys, my favourite pillow and other stuff. I really got a lot of gifts, especially from Gale and Dave.

I sat on the bed smiling, waiting for mom and Aiden crossed my mind, changing my mood. I remembered all the moments we spent together, all the things he used to say to me, how much I loved him and how much I thought he loved me, how much I wanted him to love me. I remembered how heart broken I was when I found out that he was working with Josie, I was devastated. I felt used, to think that the person that killed who my sister was right under my nose and I didn't suspect a thing.

I recently found out that Aiden and Sophie are married and that she was pregnant with his child. I felt hurt, and angry at the same time. He was so heartless, he destroyed my family and wanted to start his own. Well not on my watch, I was gonna make sure he and his family suffer for all they've done. I was so consumed with rage that I didn't realize I wasn't alone anymore till I felt someone slightly touch my shoulder. I flinched and got on my feet then I noticed my mom looking at me, teary eyed.

"Babe, what's wrong?" I turned to my side and saw Gale looking at me with concern.

"Nothing" I wiped my tears and tried to walk away but he stopped me and turned me to face him, lifting my chin so he could look into my eyes. "Talk to me."

I sat on my bed and looked straight ahead"I--I was thinking about Aiden." I expected him to get angry or jealous but instead he sat beside me and waited so I continued.

While I was talking, I noticed my mom was trying hard not to cry but I couldn't look at Gale, scared that he'd be angry I was talking about Aiden. When I glanced at him, I saw that he was looking at me with concern, he looked a bit hurt, but it wasn't because I was talking about Aiden but because of what I was feeling. He felt bad for me and I appreciated the fact that he was thinking of me.

When I was done talking, he took me in his arms and said" Lexi, its not your fault. You loved him but he didn't feel the same way so its not your fault. The fact that you didn't suspect him doesn't matter either, you were the one who found out eventually, weren't you?. So stop blaming yourself, ok?"

"He's right dear." mom said as she came to sit next to me. "No one suspected Aiden so why should you be blamed?." I smiled at her and rested my head on her shoulder.

I felt so lucky to have such amazing people in my life. I smiled to myself and closed my eyes, enjoying their company.

"So, where are we going?"

"I wanna take my girlfriend out on a date, is that bad?" He looked at her and she blushed a little.

A man bumped into his girlfriend, knocking her bag to the ground. "Ouch!."

"Oh I'm sorry about that." he bent down to pick the bag but when he gave it to her, he held her hands and didn't want to let go till her boyfriend screamed at him.

"Hey, let go of my girl you creep!"

He let her go and walked away only to hit another young lady, causing him to fall to the ground.

"Sorry, I'm a bit clumsy." she apologized as she tried to help him up. When their hands touched, the man looked shocked for a while before changing his expression. "I hope you're alright?" She asked as she dusted his outfit.

"Yes, I'm ok. Thank you."

Someone called her from behind him and she smiled and walked away from him. When he turned and saw who she was with, he smiled sinisterly and walked away.

Dave's POV

"David, can we talk?"

"Sure dad. What's up?"

"I was thinking, now that Alexa's okay, can't we all just go away from here?"

"Dad, why do you want us to move so bad?"

"Josie's a really terrible person and she's also very powerful.. I just, I just want my family to be safe." He sank into the couch looking really sad. Something was definitely wrong with him, he had been so different since we found him.

"Dad, are you okay?, you know you can talk to me, right?" I placed my hand on his shoulder and waited.

He sighed and when he spoke, it sounded like he was almost crying. "When I was in Josie's custody, she told me something."

I wondered what she could have told him to make him so broken. "I'm listening."

"Don't worry about it, I just want us to be safe." His lips curved into something that was too sad to be called a smile but his eyes were really sad.

"Dad, tell me. If you don't, I'll tell mom you're hiding something from her."

"Fine, but promise me you won't tell anyone."

"I promise."

"She told me that...that there's nothing any of us can do about it that one of us will end up dying." He looked at me and smiled or at least, he tried to. "I love you all so much and I don't want to loose any of you."

"We love you too and you're not gonna loose us, and we won't loose you either." I hugged him to try to make him feel better. Though I was scared too but I definitely wasn't gonna tell him that or else it would make him feel worse. Plus, I had a feeling everything was gonna be okay.

"Mistress, I found her."

"Is that so?"

"Yes mistress, she's a friend of the chosen one's brother and she was so powerful I could feel it, even without the ring."

"Good, I want you to bring her here."

"Yes, mistress."

"Oh zeta, If morris is successful, I might not need those puny mortals souls anymore. With the power of that girl, I could be strong enough to take on Alexa and maybe even defeat her. Then when I do, I'll be the most powerful witch in the entire universe."
