THE PLAYGROUND

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

David's POV.

"Well what do we have here?."

"What?, you found something?."

"As a matter of fact, I did."

"Is it the key?."

"No key yet, but something important also". It was a photo album. Pictures of Aiden and Josie and some including Sophie and some other people.

"I've seen this man somewhere. His body looks quite familiar, and that cold smile...I've seen it somewhere before."

"Really?, where?."

"I can't really remember. Oh....he was the one at the hospital."

"The hospital?."

"Yes. When Chris and I went to see the doctor concerning Alexa, he was in the office with him."

"Did you hear what they were talking about?."

"No, but we could ask the doctor."

"Okay. Let's look around for a while if we can find anything else."

"Sure".

We searched around more and found a bunch of other things. Pictures of Jenny, of Alexa, a bunch of keys and his journal. One of the keys unlocked the drawer in his room where we found a set of knives, a cross pendant, kinda like the one Josie gave jenny, and another black box.

"Wow, do they all have black boxes?"

"Maybe."

"Let's get these to the station and see what's in this boxes."

When we got to the station, it seemed like there was a situation because everyone was busy. "Is something wrong?."

"I don't know, but I'll find out." he walked towards an officer that looked kinda like my age. "What's going on?"

"A dead body was found about an hour ago."

"Location?."

"Behind that new muffin store close to Aviva's b and b."

"Cause of death?"

"The victim's heart was missing, along with his arms and legs."

"That's terrible. Who found the body?"

"A young lady, her name's Mary."

"Can I speak with her?"

"Of course, she's in your office."

"Okay thanks. Dave, come with me."

"Miss Mary, right?"

"Yes."

"I'm officer gale, and this is my...partner."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Dave. Officer Dave."

Gale shot me a sarcastic look and I smiled and pointed at poor Mary who looked distraught obviously by what she had seen. "Right, what were you doing when you saw it?."

"I recently got a job at oh so good muffin and I went out back to take out the trash when I saw it."

"Did you notice anything odd in the area surrounding it?."

"No. Everything seemed in place, well except the corpse surrounded in a pool of blood." It was pretty obvious that the Lady was disturbed because as she talked, her lips trembled and she had turn pale, probably from shock.

"Its alright miss Mary, thank you for calling us. You're free to go home now."

"Thank you officer." she managed to say, but she didn't leave.
