Sam had asked Emily to hang out after school, so, heading over to Burt and Carole's, the two of them shared a pizza with them for dinner before heading up to Sam's room to watch some movies together. The door was open, as per Burt's request, but it wasn't as if they really needed it, considering the two of them were pretty happy just laying in his bed, cuddled up together with his laptop open as it played one of Sam's favorites superhero movies. When about thirty minutes passed and Sam hadn't commented anything at all or attempted at least one impression, Emily knew her suspicions were right.

So, pausing the movie and rolling around in the bed so she was chest to chest with him instead, she looked up at her boyfriend with a small frown.

"So... The night has been great." She whispered up at him as he smiled a bit, already half-expecting her to question him eventually. "But something's wrong. Do you want to tell me, baby?"

Sam sighed a bit, running his fingers up and down her arms in silence for a while. Emily let him, using her free hand to run her own fingers through his hair, smiling a bit when he did too. After about five minutes like that, Sam rolled around to reach into his bedside table. Emily watched him with a frown, sitting up on her legs when Sam came back around with an envelope in hands and sat in his bed, with his back leaning up against the wall.

"Hunter College sent me a response." He said, as Emily nodded quietly, waiting for him to continue so she could breath properly once he told her if that was good or bad. "They want me to go there for an interview."

"They do?" Emily asked then, biting back a smile when Sam nodded.

"They saw my reel of impressions and really liked it." He smiled a bit. "They want to talk to me so they can decide if they'll give me a scholarship or not."

"Oh my God!" Emily squealed then, jumping over Sam as she threw her arms around his neck in a hug. Sam huffed, surprised, but hugged her back, smiling as she laughed in his ear. "That's great, Sam! I'm so proud of you! Oh, God! I knew you could do it, I knew it!"

And as she kept on praising him for this new opportunity, he just kept on smiling at her, unable to tell her that maybe — just maybe — he didn't actually want to go to his interview that week. Or even to college, at all.

"Hey guys!" Mr. Schue announced as soon as he walked into the choir room for their first glee meeting of the week. "In spite of the complete lack of representation at the career fair, I know that a lot of you are thinking about a career in the arts. Well, it's no secret that Sue Sylvester doesn't believe that a career in the arts is a very practical idea. And, for once, I have to admit that she's right. It's completely impractical. Anyone pursuing the arts needs to go in with their eyes wide open. We're talking zero job security and impossible odds. But... I've always believed that you have to pursue what you love and that is why this week's assignment is about a goofy-looking kid who struggled for years in the music business."

"Finally!" Kitty cheered quietly from her place at the piano. "It's Marilyn Manson week!"

"Close... Billy Joel!" Mr. Schue corrected as Kitty sighed and Emily giggled quietly from beside her.

"Who?" Unique frowned as Emily turned to her with a mouth hanging open as the younger girl just shrugged.

"Oh, just a musical genius who's sold over 150 million records worldwide." Artie pointed out, slightly offended.

"Billy had to fight every step of the way in his career." Mr. Schue took the word again. "He had countless failures and disappointments, writing songs that nobody wanted, playing piano in seedy bars just to pay the rent, being told he'd never make it because he didn't look right."
