Sam wasn't even aware that he could be bothering someone as he watched his show, that night, bundled up in a blanket and eating a whole bowl of lucky charms. Don't judge the poor guy. After the conversation he had just had with his girlfriend during one of their weekly skype dates, he had every right to be upset and drowning his worries in food and a trashy show.

That was, until Mercedes got home.

"Sam?" She called from the stairs, probably about to head to her bedroom upstairs.

"What?" The boy asked, chewing a big spoon of cereal he had just put in his mouth.

"Can you turn that down some please?" She asked, as he scrambled a bit for the remote.

"Hum, yeah, sorry." He said, as Mercedes approached him, frowning a bit when she noticed the junkie food in his hands. "And don't worry, I'll take..."

"What the hell are you watching, anyway?" She interrupted him, not recognizing the show playing on her TV.

"Facts of Life." He told her, sitting back straighter on the sofa to give Mercedes some room if she wanted to seat down. "It's amazing. It's about this old redheaded lady who runs this boarding school for lesbians, and then I think the lesbian school burns down. The old redheaded lady opened up this pot dispensary called Edna's Edibles. They all work there."

"Oh, well, now I'm awake." Mercedes shrugged, sitting down by Sam's feet. "You mind if I watch it with you?"

"Sure." He shrugged then. "I've always had trouble sleeping. So when I moved to New York, Blaine, hum... You're gonna get a kick out of this... He started reading me Star Wars Fan Fiction until I got tired."

"Star Wars Fan Fiction?" Mercedes repeated as Sam just nodded. She burst out laughing then, as Sam just smiled. "You're such a child... Dear God, I have no idea how Emily actually deals with you."

Mercedes stopped laughing when she noticed the slight frown in Sam's face and instantly regretted her words. She was about to say something else, but before she could, Sam spoke up.

"Can I ask you, hum... Can I ask you a question?" He asked as Mercedes spun around in her seat so she could look properly at him.

Sure the two of them weren't the closest of friends in high school since Sam usually stuck around the football guys or the Cheerios and she tended to stick to Kurt, most of the time, but Emily was still one of her best friends and the two of them had been pretty much the reason why she had even gone to LA in the first place. So, whatever it was the two of them needed, she'd be ready to help. So, humming in agreement, she let him know she was listening.

"Do you think... Do you think the fact that we're apart is gonna break us up?" He asked, quietly, and, for the first time ever, Mercedes got to see the rather insecure side of Sam Evans, usually reserved to Emily Marshall only.

"Are you kidding, Sam?" Mercedes frowned then, shaking her head. "You two are crazy for each other. There's no way you're breaking up."

"It's just... We were just talking before you came home." Sam shrugged. "And she just told me some of her friends were telling her she was crazy to still be dating her high school boyfriend."

"Well, and what did she tell them?"

"That they didn't know what they were talking about and they had no business meddling in her relationship." He said, opening a small smile as Mercedes just chuckled. "She was pretty pissed about it too. Gave me a full rant on it."

"Typical Emily." The girl laughed. "But hey, if she said all that, you shouldn't worry. She loves you. And you clearly love her too. And, I mean, sure it might look weird for a few outsiders that you two are dating your high school sweethearts long distance, but it doesn't for the rest of us, the ones who know you and know your relationship. We know you're made for each other and you two are at your best with one another. So really, we all know you two are endgame. You just have to believe it enough to hold on to that for the next four years."
