Once more, everyone was reunited in the choir room. They were all supposed to head back to their colleges and normal lives after Homecoming, but everyone was having so much fun with the whole gang back together that, collectively, they decided to take a few more days off to stay home and attend glee club. Emily had considered going back to Kentucky already, but after having Quinn, Santana and Brittany practically beg her to stay, she relented. Besides she really did want to see how Rachel would cope with being somewhat of a teacher considering she never actually listened to anyone but her own brain her whole life and any opportunity to make fun of Berry was great opportunity.
"Welcome, everyone, to our very first Glee Club rehearsal." Rachel said, as she started off the first meeting of the week. "First, I would like to welcome back our distinguished alumni who have so graciously agreed to stay an extra week. So, thank you, thank you, thank you."
"Yeah, how exactly are you guys doing that?" Jane asked.
"Oh, I can bend time and space with my mind." Brittany shrugged as Emily giggled at the younger girl's confused face.
"Okay, so, as you very well have heard, the glee club has a grand and glorious tradition of starting each week with a lesson where we explore every musical genre under the sun." Rachel continued, far too used to Brittany's weirdness to actually care.
"But mostly Katy Perry and show tunes." Quinn shrugged, causing Kurt to shake his head.
"Not this week." He said. "Rachel and I are extremely excited to kick off this week's lesson with our..."
"First musical lesson, Jagged Little Tapestry." Rachel said, showing everyone the board with the name written on it as Kurt sighed, clearly annoyed. Emily snorted at that. This was about to be good.
"Oh, look, finally some songs about Rachel's hair extensions." Santana teased, as Brittany laughed.
"Now, as you can clearly see, we've combined the titles of these two iconic albums..."
"Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill." Kurt interrupted Rachel, as she fixed her hair to try and hide her annoyance.
"Which is celebrating its 20th-year anniversary." She said, as Kurt continued.
"And Carole King's Tapestry." He said, and when Rachel sent him a glare even the new kids could tell there was something fishy going on with the pair of them. "That-that's my favorite."
"So these two iconic albums are sort of like chocolate and peanut butter. Both..."
"Or peanut butter and jelly."
"Okay, they're both different but amazing." Rachel shook her head at Kurt's interruption again. "You know, you could say that they're sort of like the Reese's Pieces of music. Right?"
"Or, if you don't like Reese's Pieces, you could name another candy of your choice." Kurt said, as Emily bit her lip to try and hide her giggles at the awkward silence that filled the room.
"Okay, Kurt, why don't you now..."
"Well..." Kurt took the word again to try and salvage some of his and Rachel's dignity, both fully aware that their teaching methods weren't really working anymore. "Carole King's Tapestry is... You know, it's easy and informal, like you're getting a cup of coffee with an old friend."
"Team Carole." The twins sang as they exchanged a high-five.
"Good choice." Rachel nodded. "Okay, and Alanis is different. You know, she's edgy and dark..."
"Angry." Kurt said, as Rachel rolled her eyes a bit.
"Team Alanis." Tina said, as she put out her hands to Roderick and Jane for a high-five too.
