Watching the doctors and various people running in and out of the operation theatre, made atsumu feel worse.

He wasn't alone now, he was sitting with kiyoomi's parents. They never spoke a word, his dad just sat there, staring at the door of the theatre, waiting for the surgery to get over, and his mom sobbed all the while, wiping tears off her eyes every once in a while.

Atsumu felt awkward, but he didn't want them to talk to him now. That wasn't important.

After three hours of continuous surgery, the tired group of professionals walked out of the theatre, removing their coats and gloves.

One of the head doctors walked towards kiyoomi's parents, "Are you his parents?"

Both of them stood up at the mention and nodded.

The doctor sighed,"He has recieved quite the hit on his bones. One of his ribs is broken, and his right hand and leg. But that's not the problem here." He says, as he graces his hands with hand sanitizer.

He looked at them right in the eye before saying, "I will be frank with you, he has suffered a lot of blood loss; and we have performed a head surgery, meaning he would be unconscious. We have matched his blood type and have provided blood for now."

Kiyoomi's mom looked like she was at the verge of breaking into tears again.

"But he is unconscious and under supervision for now. We hope he will wake up soon."

That was enough to break the invisible dam that held the tears back on kiyoomi's mom's eyes. His dad patted her head and made her sit on one of the chairs and walked away to talk with the doctor to discuss further information.

Atsumu heard everything, and tried to reason himself that kiyoomi was strong enough to come back from this.

He glanced at kiyoomi's mother who had calmed down a little by now. Atsumu handed over a tissue to her, without saying anything.

She accepted it and used it to wipe her tears.

After composing herself, she turned to the blonde, "Atsumu-kun right?"

Atsumu looked surprised but still replied, "yes, sakusa-san."

"Please call me Akira." She insisted.

"O-Okay then."

Things turned silent again, both of them just looking at the walls.

"Kiyoomi told me a lot about you." She chuckled lightly at the memory.

"Is that so?" Atsumu laughed a little, feeling special. "I hope he said good things then."

"Oh yes, he did." Akira smiled at the boy. "He loves you a lot doesn't he?"

Atsumu widened his eyes and flushed. "U-Uh, um-"

Akira laughed at this. "I just guessed he did. He never talks about anyone to me, but when he came back all he did was talk about you." She smiled fondly.

Atsumu didn't know what to say, so he just looked down, hiding his small blush.

Akira's smile slowly turned back into a sad frown. But she knew her son wouldn't leave her alone; he'd come back.

He would defenitely come back.
