Chapter 11

My hands flew to my mouth, my head shaking, "I'm so sorry." Eli rubbed his cheek and nodded, "I suppose I deserved that, probably a lot more." With that I slapped him again but this time on the other cheek. He growled at me his eyes getting darker. He made a move to come at me when the door opened and the nurse from before came in carrying a wrap and some gauze. Eli sat back down ignoring the nurse and stared daggers at me, but from the small tilt of his mouth I knew he was planning something. The nurse undid my blood soaked bandages and re-stiched my wound, applying more gauze and a wrap once she finished.

I watched Eli follow her out and come back in a few minutes later. "Come on we're leaving." I went to stand when Eli picked me up and cradled me in his arms out the room. "You know I can walk." He shrugged and looked down at me. "I prefer this better." I was about to smile at his words until he said, "That way everyone can see what a baby you are." He smirked and continued to walk out towards the exit of the pack infirmary. When we got outside, I groaned and covered my eyes from the blistering sunlight. I swear it felt like someone was holding a bright flashlight to my eyes that shot out razorblades that where lit on fire.

"You alright?"

"Like you care." I buried my head into his chest, his grip on me tightening.

"Of course I care." His voice was soft, sincere, I would look at him but I was too afraid the burning in my eyes would come back.

"Alpha! Hey man, hello Luna how are you feeling?"

"By the sound of your voice I'm guessing its little Daniel?"

"That is correct, and I'm far from little Luna, I can show you sometime." I laughed hearing the suggestive tone in his voice. Although his comment didn't sit well with Eli, because the next thing I knew I was getting set down on what I'm assuming is a bench, for I have yet to open my eyes. Once I did, I realized I was sitting on indeed a bench outside the infirmary in the shade. When I looked out to where Eli was, he was already making his way back down the steps towards Daniel. Just from Eli's body language and his clenched fist I knew Daniel was about to be in for a rude awakening.

"Hello." A small voice said. I looked down at the little girl in front of me, her black hair bouncing with small curls and her light grey eyes shining. She had a shy smile on her face and was hugging a stuffed toy wolf to her chest. "Hi."

She stretched out her small hand to me, which I took with my good arm. "My name is Violet." I shook her hand, "Emily." She smiled which only made me smile. There was something about this little girl that looked familiar. "Violet, what are you doing out here?" I didn't have to look to see who it was. "Nothing." She gave Eli a toothed grin and lifted her arms up for him to pick her up, which he obliged. His face lit up when he picked her up and spun her around, at which giggled. He looked over at me, "Stay here while I take her inside for her nap." I nodded and looked down at my hands. I had no idea why I was all of a sudden listening to what he says. I glanced to the door Eli went through, I was about to head down the front steps when a girl's voice to my right stopped me. "That's his kid." I turned my head over to the girl sitting on the banister of the porch. She was examining her nails, her fiery red hair stopped just below her shoulders in a mass of curls. Her crop top looked too tight and the shorts she was wearing shouldn't even be considered shorts for how far up they went.

"How do you know?" she looked up from her nails to glare at me.

"Everyone knows. That little girl is his world, so don't even think for one second that he will pay any attention to you." With that she hopped down from the banister and walked away. I felt a strange pain hit where my heart was, because right now I have no idea where it went. I guess it made sense, Violet looked so much like him. I wonder who her mother is, another strike of pain hit. I shook my head wiping those thoughts from my head and walked down the front steps.

I walked around towards the back to see a big open field with a couple of houses spread out on top of a hill. Further down the hill there were a group of men and woman training. Some were fighting hand to hand combat, others fighting with what looked like bamboo sticks. It was like a freakin martial arts class back here. Which brought back memories to when I took martial arts, good times. I smiled when one of the guys got knocked to the ground. I walked over to the floor set up and stood in the corner, "Your stance was all wrong." Every person out here whipped their heads towards me. I gave a nervous smile and waved, they all went back to doing what they were doing, ignoring me, some still kept stealing glances my way.

"Who are you?" an angry voice said, I looked over at the guy who just knocked the other one on the ground. "Why are you interrupting my class? All women not fit to fight, should be inside making us our food." That statement made me want to punch the guy in the face. The guys that surrounded us laughed. I frowned, "What are you doing out here then?" The guy growled which was followed by a couple of more growls from the ones behind him. "I'm third in command you best show me some respect."

I gave a sarcastic salute and rolled my eyes. "I'm just trying to help your guy out so that he doesn't get knocked down on his ass next time." He was in my face this time, he bent his head down to my ear and whispered, "Show me." He stepped back and through his arms up and said, "Show me how it's done, since you seem to know everything." I glared at him and stepped onto the mat across from him. I took my stance forgetting all about my bad shoulder, when Mr. Third in Command, all but charged and slammed me to the ground. Letting out a grown and a small whimper I rolled over onto my good side.

"That shoulder of yours doesn't look so good." He laughed and that just gave me the motivation to get up and punch this guy in the face. When he wasn't looking I charged but before I got to him, he turned and swung a punch straight to the side of my head. Anticipating that move, I ducked under his arm and grabbed it with my right and pulling it behind his back. It only lasted a second, and I was on my back with him towering over me. I really wanted to wipe that smirk off this guy's face, so that's what I did. I swung my legs behind him, making him stumble backwards. I took that as my chance, I shot up off the ground and round house kicking the guy in the face. I starred daggers at the guy who was now nursing a bloody nose and a busted lip. "That looks bad, maybe you should get that looked at." I smirked and all the men and woman around us cheered. I didn't realize  the other groups surround us also. "What the fuck is going on out here?" All heads snapped around to the voice, the smirk wiping off my face. A chorus of 'Alpha', and heads bowed filled the backyard.
