Chapter 14
My head rested on Eli’s chest as he drew small circles on my back. We both seemed to be lost in our own thoughts for the short time. “I’m still mad, but I’m willing to work through it.” I raised my head to look at him. “I understand.” I whispered. I laid my head back down and he kissed the top of my head. “We should set some ground rules. Not yet though, I want to enjoy this.” I said.
“Alright.” He gave me a squeeze and a knock came to the door and it started to slowly open.
“Wait, who is it?” Eli called out. The stopped and Benjamin’s voice came from the other side of the door. “Sorry alpha, I just wanted to check on Emily.”
“She’s fine.” I glared at him and smacked his chest. “Be nice.”
“Hello Benji.”
“Hello Emily, oh and by the way Eli, your mother is on her way up so you might want to get dressed.”
I sat up real quick and looked panicky over at Eli. “Thank you Benjamin you may leave.” The door closed and started looking around the room for my clothes only realizing that I was in a hospital gown earlier and that was torn in two. I turned around biting my lip, Eli was pulling his jeans on and staring at me with lust filled eyes. He walked around the bed and pulled me to his chest. His thumb pulled my lip from my teeth and placed a chaste kiss on my lips.
“Calm down, no need to panic. I will get you something to wear, in the mean time you can take a shower.” I breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank you.” I smiled and started to pull away when he pulled me back to his chest. “Not yet. I want to do something first.” I looked at him confused, “Wha-“I was cut off when he placed his lips back on mine. He pinched my side and I gasped, he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, our lips moving in sync. When he pulled away I was breathless, “That’s better.” My cheeks flushed and he had a smirk on his face. “Now go take a shower.”
I turned around and took a step to the bathroom when a stinging sensation came to my butt, I looked back at Eli and he had a smirk on his face. He winked and left the room. The bathroom was spacious, big enough to fit a shower. The floor was tiled and the walls a beige color. The rug in front of the shower was the same color as the walls, the toilet sat on the opposite wall with the sink next to it.
I stood under the stream of hot water, relieving the tension in my muscles. I shut the water off and pulled the curtain back. Sitting on the toilet was a towel and a set of clothes. I dried off and put the clothes on. The shirt was a bit small, if I pulled it down then the tops of my boobs would show and I lifted up my stomach would show. Where did he get these clothes from, Violet? I took the shirt off and walked out of the bathroom. Eli’s shirt from our earlier events was sitting at the foot of the bed.
As I pulled it on the door to the room opened and Eli walked in carrying a tray of food. “Thought you would be hungry.” I spun around the small shirt still in my hand. “I see you decided to wear my shirt. Did you not like the one I picked out?”
“No. Where did you get it from, Violets clothes? Eli its way too small.”
“I know.” He set the food tray down on the table by the bed and walked back over to me wrapping his arms around my waist. “I wanted you to wear my shirt.”
“There’s only one button left on this shirt and it barely covers anything.”
“I like the way it looks on you.”
I rolled my eyes and went over to the food, popping a raspberry into my mouth.
“Did you just roll your eyes at me Miss Winters?”
I smirked and glanced over my shoulder, popping another raspberry into my mouth. “Maybe. What are you going to do about it Mr. North?” I taunted raising an eyebrow. He took long strides over to me and bent his head down, his lips were about to touch mine when a throat was being cleared. We both pulled back and looked at the woman standing in the doorway with a small smile on her face. “I see you too have made up.”
The woman was tall, around 5”8’, with dark brown hair that fell just below her shoulders. She had smooth tan skin, her eyes the color of sea green. She had on a mint green blazer with an off pink floral shirt matched with white capris. “Mom.”
She walked into the room and came over and gave me a hug. “You gave us quite the scare last night. How do you feel sweetie?”
“I’m good Mrs. North.”
“Oh please call me, Clare.” Her warm smile made me miss my own mother. I gave a tight lipped smile. “How about we get out of here and go on a walk out back?” Eli suggested.
We headed out of the room, Eli’s mother walking in front of us. I intertwined mine and Eli’s hands together and looked up to see a smile cross his face. “Can we talk later, about everything?” his smile faded and his face became serious. “Maybe we shouldn’t. At least not yet.”
“Eli, I want to know. I don’t want to be kept in the dark anymore. We all know what happened the last time.” I saw him flinch at the last statement. He gave out a frustrated sigh and said, “Alright, we’ll talk in my office when we get back, but for right now I think we both need this walk.”
