CXIV.

EXT. RACE TRACK — AFTERNOON

Dionysus watches as Ariadne walks out from his tent. She is walking towards him—in her high heels, with a set of coffee cups on both of her hands. She smiles a little when she finally reaches him and puts out her right hand.

ARIADNE
Kape?

Iiling lang si Dionysus pero agad niyang kukunin ang mga dala ni Ariadne. He looks away when she looks at him.

DIONYSUS
Weren't you briefed earlier? I don't drink coffee during training, it makes me palpitate.

ARIADNE
Sorry. I thought I had to get coffee for everyone.

DIONYSUS
Oo. Pero hindi para sa akin. Tubig lang ako.

Itataas ni Dionysus ang dalawa set ng kape na hawak niya. Babaling siya kay Ariadne na nahihiyang binalikan ang mga notes sa phone niya para sa mga kailangan niyang gawin at alalahanin.

DIONYSUS
Para 'to sa mga staffs.

ARIADNE
I'll be the one to distribute that.

DIONYSUS
I'll help you.

ARIADNE
Why?

DIONYSUS
'Cause this is not your job.

Ariadne gives him a smile before taking the set of coffee cups on his hands. She looks carefree and without a care even if she is working for him today as an assistant despite her well-known status as a model.

ARIADNE
It is because I accepted it. I am not the model Ariadne today, I am your assistant.

Ariadne is about to walk away when Dionysus catches her wrist. She stops and looks back, with her round eyes filled with curiosity.

ARIADNE
Yes?

DIONYSUS
Why are you doing this?
You said you're letting me go.

ARIADNE
I wanted to.

DIONYSUS
That's past tense.

ARIADNE
Yes.

DIONYSUS
Why?

ARIADNE
How can I let you go? When I every time I try saying goodbye, I am brought back to you.

DIONYSUS
Masasaktan ka lang.

ARIADNE
Sanay ako.
