ALEAH POV
There was a new girl at our school today, her name was abbey. She had big blue eyes and the best dimples I have ever seen. "We should go say hi." KC suggested. "I'm nervous what if she doesn't like me." I said. "Ok my advice is to stop being so awkward." KC said with a giggle. Turns out this girl was really nice, and we all had a lot in common. And she lived really close too. We sat with her at lunch and showed her around school. "This is a big Highschool." She said. "Well yeah but you get used to it." I said. After school we invited her over to show her around the neighborhood and to hang out a little bit. She seemed to really like the neighborhood and I was glad. We ended up playing a game called jackpot that apparently we all knew. "Mystery box alive!" KC exclaimed. Then me and abbey raced for it down the street. Abbey beat me there. "JACKPOT!" KC exclaimed. That meant abbey had won. We played a few more rounds and then Abbey had to go home and unpack. "This was fun thanks for inviting me!" She smiled and ran off to her dads truck.KC POV
I went home that night and called Dan, he didn't answer. Lately I hadn't been talking to him much, he joined BBC radio and he was busy. The time difference was hard because a lot of times he would either be asleep or I would. I wanted to tell him about my new friend. He called me back around midnight, apparently he had just gotten back from some party celebrating them joining the radio. "Dan I don't know if I can talk right now it's pretty late here and my parents might get mad." I missed him though so I decided I would sit on the roof and talk to him. Lucky for me there was a perfect ledge right outside my bedroom window and the weather was a pretty 60 degrees at night in February. Oh California must you be so perfect. "Sorry I've been so busy babe, I miss you." That statement hit me hard. Of course there was nothing wrong with it but I realized how things just weren't the same. "Dan we need to talk." I said. I didn't know what I was doing, but something in my mind came over me. "We haven't been talking much and I just want to know what I can do to keep you." I said. I couldn't believe myself but I knew what I was about to do was what I had to. "You don't have to do anything, it's gonna be hard but we can do this." He sounded worried. "Well anyway I have some good news and bad news." He said. "Ok let me hear it." I honestly didn't even want to know right now, I was tired and I needed to sleep. "The good news is that I can still can still see you for spring break, the bad news is that I can't come to America." I was so pissed at what he just told me. "Wait hold on, so your telling me I have less than a month to book two plane tickets to London England if I wanna see you?!" He sounded worried after I said that. "Babe babe calm down I can get my money back for the two tickets for me and phil going to America, and I'll pay for yours." Now I felt bad. "No you don't have to do that I have some money saved up." I regretted it as soon as I said it. "Are you sure? Because really I can-" I cut him off. "No really it's fine really. Listen I'm tired and I need to go to sleep I have school tomorrow." I regretted that too. The truth was I didn't have a lot of money probably only enough for one plane ticket, and Aleah would be upset. No she wouldn't like this at all. I hung up before saying goodbye and went to sleep. When I woke up I was already running late. "Shit!" I jumped up and pulled on the first thing I saw, a pair of jeans and a tank top. I hated wearing jeans, my mom made me wear these on for Aleah's sweet 16. They weren't paint splattered anymore but I didn't plan on wearing them ever again. At this point I didn't care. I ran a brush through my hair and rinsed with some mouthwash, grabbed my bad and just made the bus in a second.
