Jin read through his script as Namjoon read through his textbook. Well, he was staring at the elder more than his homework.
He wondered what had caused his mood change. His comforting laugh and bad-but-funny dad jokes were deeply missed by the others. Could it be me? Namjoon dismissed the thought. He didn't have that much control over Jin.
He didn't mean to cause Jin any harm, he genuinely didn't know his feelings for the elder. Jin looked up to catch the younger's gaze. Both their cheeks flushed red and looked away.
"Uh," Namjoon started, wanting to talk but the tension unbearable, "How's the role going?"
"Good," Jin said, not looking up. He ran his fingers through his hair in annoyance. "The cast is supporting and understanding. My co-star, Jackson, is a huge support." Something sparked inside of Namjoon when Jin mentioned Jackson. Why point him out? "Fuck," Jin said under his breath.
Raising a brow, Namjoon questioned him. "You okay?" Jin didn't curse often.
"Yeah." Sighing, he slides the script across to Namjoon. "I can't pronounce the last word from my character. It's another language. English, maybe. Could you help?"
Namjoon nodded and looked over it, his breath got caught in his throat when he saw the words. "Te Amo," he said, "It's Italian." He prayed Jin didn't ask what it meant.
He nodded in thanks and took the script back. Namjoon didn't return to his work but continued to admire the other.
His soft but sharp jawline. His silk smooth skin had a light glow to it. His coffee-brown eyes held a warmth he refused to embrace. His plump lips tinted a soft pink. His jet black hair perfectly set in place.
No wonder this man was an actor. He's beautiful.
Namjoon thought back to how he had acted. People say dumb things when they're scared. He was too dumb to see it then but Jin had fallen for him. People lie when they want something. What was he lying about? Who was he lying to? He didn't know what to feel. He didn't know what he felt. What did he want? Jin to get the part. Or Jin himself. It wasn't a lustful want but rather a need.
Having him in his arms made him feel whole. When his laugh rang through the room and the corner of his eyes wrinkled. When he learned a new thing. Watching him cook. Watching him help with music. Even watching him do the simplest things, like read his script.
Need is consistent. You need water. You need food. You need sleep. But love may fade. Maybe that's why its so scary to fall. It may leave. But the fear is half the experience of falling in love.
In love. Love is the only emotion you can be in. You can't be in sad or in anger. But only in love. It covers you like a warm blanket on the snowy winter night or the cool water of a pool on a hot summer day. It glistens in the light and sparkles with hope.
Was he falling in or already in?
The cuddles. Late nights. Snuck kisses. It all meant something. It meant the world. He would go burn down the world without a second thought for Jin's smile.
He looked back at the elder. He didn't want to kiss him without his consent. But the addicting taste of his lips had him begging for more. "Hyung."
Jin looked up. Barely did they ever call him Hyung muchless Namjoon. He didn't want to kiss him. It seemed too normal. Too over-used. He wanted to show his need.
Jin raised a brow, "Yes?"
Namjoon's mouth felt paper dry as he struggled to find the correct words. "Uh, I was just thinking," he looked up to meet Jin's soft gaze. His glance was never harsh or judgemental. But always caring and comforting. He always made others feel better than himself. If we gather all our embarrassment together, it becomes confidence. He didn't mind embarrassing himself if it meant uplifting others. Selfless and thoughtful.
"Take your time," Jin reassured.
Namjoon nodded, "Yeah, um, you know what I said, when you got the role?"
His expression darkened and he felt his guard go up. "Yeah," he said, returning to his script. He didn't feel the need to talk about this. Namjoon already made it clear he didn't feel anything.
"I was an idiot," Namjoon confessed. Jin laughed at the comment, feeling his sympathy for the younger disappear. "I mean that I feel something. But I'm not sure what to label it."
"Prove it."
His eye's widen, "What?"
Jin marked his page and closed his script, facing the younger. "Prove it to me."
"You mean, like, court you?"
Jin nodded, "I guess so, in a sense."
Namjoon nodded, "Okay."
Jin's phone went off as he smiled, "Good luck, Joonie. I know you know a lot but I have someone else courting me as well. He's actually here to pick me up for a date."
Namjoon stared at him as he got up and collected his things, "Wait, who?"
He smiled before walking out, "Jackson Wang, my Co-Star."
