Fear the Badger's Might

Summerby did substitute for Linda, he's a great Seeker and only needed a few adjustments and trainings, he worked well with the others too especially with the new beaters, Angus McManus and Eleanor Branstone. "And that's a wrap! Good luck to us tomorrow!" I said as I stood in front of the Hufflepuff Quiditch team in the changing room after we practiced and I gave them some notes and announcements.

They cheered and continued to fix their things. "Hey, Black." Called Maynard as I folded my fixed my broomstick, I turned to face the pale freckled brunette man with ocean blue eyes.

"You can call me Agape or Renee, Summerby." I said smiling, he scratched the back of his head.

"Uh sure, you can call me—" said Summerby but was cut off when someone called him.

"Hey, Dran! Are you coming or not?" shouted a tall man with long black hair and deep green eyes from Ravenclaw and I believe one of Ginny's ex-boyfriend who's peaking outside the changing room. We both looked back at him.

"Hold on a sec, Corner!" Summerby shouted back and looked back to me, my gaze drifted from the tall man with long black hair and back to Maynard. "You can call me that, I guess." He uttered biting his lower lip and looking down to his feet which was tapping the ground.

"Dran?" I curiously asked, he looked up to me.

"Yeah, it's when you — err — the Nard in my name when you flip it—" he uttered, trying hard to explain where he got his nickname, looking up to the ceiling and fiddling his fingers. I smiled at that, he looked like a kid trying to explain his mom how her favorite vase broke.

"Then Dran it is." I interrupted him, he looked down to me with a wide smile.

"Sorry, my English isn't that polished, my first language is Gaelic, I'm Scottish." He explained, my mouth formed an 'o' as I nodded. It's not really a big shock, I can hear his strong Scottish accent evidently.

"Oh that's alright, what d'you want to ask?" I said, he jumped a little trying to remember what he was going to ask me in the first place.

"Oh, yeah — I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for having a chance to play in the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, my family always wanted me to join but I never thought that I'm qualified to be in the team." Said Dran, smiling widely and looking proud at himself.

"Don't thank me Dran, you're here because of your talent and because Linda is in the hospital." I uttered, patting him in the shoulders as I reached for my broom in the table and carried it. "Well, sleep tight, Dran, big day tomorrow." I said, looking back to him who was smiling and nodding. I gave him a nod before I finally left the changing room.

The weather was colder now as we entered deeper in November. The mountains around the school became icy gray and the lake like chilled steel. Every morning the ground was covered in frost and so did the Quidditch pitch.

"Let's win this again folks!" I just finished giving my speech in the changing room with the team and we're all now on standby waiting to be called. I fixed my canary-yellow robes as we waited for the signal of Madam Hooch.

When we we're finally called, I lead the team in the middle of the field where Madam Hooch was standing, waiting for the two teams. The Ravenclaw team, dressed in blue, were already standing in the middle of the field waiting for us with Madam Hooch
