"Billie you set this meeting for a reason I'm sure. Would you like to talk about it?" Dr. Lewis asks.
Last night I saw something that fucked me up and I needed to talk to her even though this is technically her off day.
"I'm trying to process my feelings," I sigh.
"Ok. Your feelings about what?"
"Alissa," I mumble.
"You've been seeing me by yourself since you two separated and denying that you still have feelings for her. What changed?"
"I caught her with someone else."
"Go on."
Flashback
"I can't believe we're wearing these tacky sweaters," Erin mumbles as we pull up to Josie's house for a Christmas party.
"It's an ugly Christmas sweater party baby. That's the point," I remind her.
"I know but I wanted to dress cute," she whines.
I roll my eyes. "I doubt anyone is dressed cute. Don't worry."
We head up to the house and I ring the doorbell. A second later Josie swings the door open with a smile. "Yay I'm so glad you came."
"Of course we did. We wouldn't miss it," I hand her the bottle of wine I bought. "Josie this is Erin, Erin this is Josie."
"Nice to finally meet you," Josie says as sincerely as she can. I can tell it's slightly awkward for her.
"You too. Thank you for the invite," Erin smiles.
"No problem. Come in. There's drinks and food in the kitchen," she steps aside allowing us to come inside.
It takes me no time to spot Alissa and Cam. They are laughing and talking with Bianca and her date. I roll my eyes at the sight.
"You ok?" Erin asks.
"Perfect. Let's get a drink."
After grabbing two beers I migrate my way over to Cam and Alissa in an attempt to be cordial. Immediately Alissa looks nervous and I remind myself to be nice.
"Hey what's up," I speak.
"Sup." Cam speaks back. "You must be Erin?"
"Yes," Erin smiles. "Nice to finally meet you."
"Same. I like the matching sweaters."
"Thanks it was Billie's idea," Erin says. "Alissa you look pretty."
"Aw thanks Erin," Alissa smiles and I cringe when Cam puts her arm around her.
I walk away to get another beer even though I haven't even finished the first one yet. Being around them is harder than I thought and it makes my blood boil.
