"Damn it," I mumble to myself as I try to reach a can of tomato sauce from the top shelf. "Why do grocery stores put stuff so high?"
"Talking to yourself?" Someone says from behind me. Before I can react I feel a body press against the back of mine as an arm reaches up and grabs the can.
I turn around to face a woman with short blonde hair and a chiseled jawline. She hands me the can with a smile and takes a step back.
"T-thanks," I stutter.
"No problem gorgeous."
"You look really familiar," I say as I glance at the logo on her shirt. Toned, I say to myself. "Do you work at that gym?"
"I own it," she chuckles.
"Oh wow you're practically a celebrity. Everyone loves that place. Doesn't like Beyoncé go there?"
"Now that might be a reach."
I laugh. "I'm just repeating what I've heard. It's nice to meet you. I'm Alissa."
She shakes my hand but doesn't let go instantly. "I'm Cam."
Her eyes slowly trail from my face downward and I blush. "Do you workout Alissa?"
"Not exactly. I run sometimes, but I actually had a baby a few months ago."
"Damn seriously? I guess you just have good genetics," she bites her lip.
"I guess so," I giggle. "I uh should go but it was nice meeting you."
"Same. You should come by the gym sometime. First session is free."
"I don't know. I'm kinda scared of gyms."
She smiles. "That's no problem. We'll start out with a personal training session and work on getting over that fear."
"Fine," I smirk. "I'll see what I can do."
She nods. "Fair enough. See you soon."
I wave goodbye and hurriedly leave the aisle. It's been a while since someone has flirted with me and it feels good knowing I still got it.
I pay for my groceries then make my way home to Billie and the girls. As soon as I step inside the house I'm met with the sound of cartoons blasting on the tv.
"Let me help you with those," Billie says as she takes the bags from me and into the kitchen.
"Thank you," I say while trailing behind her. "I was thinking spaghetti for dinner. Is that ok?"
"That's fine. I'm going to head out after though. I have a date with Erin tonight," she informs me.
