I wake up just as Mya starts to get fussy and pass her off to Alissa to breastfeed. The nurse makes sure they are both doing ok then she officially packs up and leaves.
"What would you like for breakfast?" I ask as I towel dry my hair. While she was with the nurse I used that as an opportunity to shower and change.
"How about waffles and bacon? No eggs," she says.
"Sounds good. Do you want me to put Mya back in her bassinet?"
"No I want to hold her some more," she smiles.
I leave her to it and go upstairs to wake up Mila for the day.
"Where baby?" Mila asks as soon as I walk into her room.
"Good morning to you too," I chuckle. "The baby is with mommy. If you get dressed and help me make breakfast you can hold her."
"Ok mama," she smiles.
I get her out of her pajamas and into some shorts and a little t-shirt from my last collection of merch. After brushing her hair into a ponytail and fighting with her to brush her teeth, we go down to the kitchen to cook.
"Are you excited to be a big sister?" I ask.
"Mhmm," she smiles. "Mommy have two babies."
"That's right. Your sister's name is Mya," I tell her.
"Mya live here?"
"Yes she lives here with you and mommy now."
"You live here too?" she questions.
"No baby girl I live somewhere else remember? You come to my house and visit."
"Why you no live here?" she pouts.
"Because I can't."
"Why?"
"I have my own house," I say simply.
"I want own house," she tells me.
"When you're big like me and mommy you can get your own house," I chuckle.
I get through the rest of breakfast making without too many more questions. Mila sits at the table and take a plate of food to Alissa. Once everyone is done I bring Mila in to meet her sister for the first time.
"Hi mommy," she giggles excitedly.
"Hi sweetheart. Are you excited?" Alissa asks.
"Yes! I hold baby," she claps.
"Ok let's sit over here." I swoop her up and sit her on the one couch that's still in the living room. I grab the baby and sit next to her. "Ok can you hold your arms like this?"
She does as I tell her too and I place the baby on her lap and help her support Mya's head.
"This is so sweet," Alissa says as she watches them. "What do you think Mila?"
