Lucas's P.O.V.

This interrogation was going nowhere, I don't know what tip they got, but I gathered it all started back at the restaurant, where we ate at.

"I'm telling you, I didn't shoot that man."

"He was threatening your girl, Lucas. That must have pissed you off?" Officer ass face said.

I started laughing, "Yeah, that's why I was trying to leave with her. He tried shooting her, there were shots and that's when all of your wonderful officers showed up."

He sighed, "We will have to hold you until Monday, you can make bail before your court appearance. If you think of anything else, let me know."

I just stared at him, this was all total bullshit.

Dad walked into my holding cell, "Where's Lexi? Is she alright?"

"She's fine, shaken up a little; but fine. She left unwillingly with her father a little bit ago. You do realize all this is a set up, right?"

"Yeah, I got that impression. Dad, you need to protect Lexi, I can't make bail until Monday and I don't want her anywhere but my home."

"I'm already on it. When she left, I told her I'd come get her when I was done here. You got yourself a good girl there. I can see how much she loves you."

This made me smile, "Make sure she's safe… please."

My dad nodded my way, as the officer escorted him out.

Lexi's P.O.V.

"Ohh, I'm glad you're alright sweetheart. That must have been so terrifying." Mom said, hugging me as soon as Dad and I walked into the house.

"It was, but Lucas and the guys made sure I was safe."

"Jesus Christ." My dad hissed.

"Thomas!" Mom scolded.

"Well it's true-"

My dad walked up to me, and spat in my face, "I don't know what has to happen for you to dump that boy, but this shit needs to end. He is going to get you killed, baby. I'm not going to lose you."

"If it wasn't for Lucas and his men, I would have been shot! Not only that, the threats are getting worse. I swear to you, Lucas didn't shoot that man. Even if he did, that man had a gun, he-"

"There was NO gun," my father was shaking. "Officer's looked, and they looked again because of your statement… there's nothing, he was unarmed."

"He was not. Dad, I saw it myself… I don't know how many times I have to tell you and those officers that. I'm one hundred percent positive the person stalking me is behind this. Daddy, listen to me… he's threatened me saying if I didn't break up with him he was going to get rid of Lucas. This guy killed a cat for christ sake. He's coming for me."

"I won't let him hurt you, I will do everything in my power to protect you from that man."

"Which man are you talking about? Lucas or my stalker?"

He was silent for a long while before looking away. "Let's say, this John guys did have a gun. Who would have gotten rid of it? That park was surrounded by Lucas's men when the cops showed up."

My dad actually thought of something smart here. All the men there tonight, were Lucas's top guys whom he trusted.

Which also makes me wonder, how that's even possible. It was quiet at that park, the guy must have been harassing us for five minutes at the most before they showed up, which would have been impossible unless there was a tip. My wheels were turning, I was bound and determined to get Lucas out of this.

The buzzer to the gate went off. "Sir, David Costello is here, should I let him in?"

Dad hit the button, "Sure."

I rolled my eyes, "Don't be rude."

I went over and opened the door, David walked in with Max and Ben.

"Hi guys, did you get to see him?"

David gave me a kiss on the cheek, "Yes, he can't get bailed out until Monday, so until then we have to sit tight. How are you holding up?"

"I'm okay, I didn't want to leave but they made me."

David turn towards my dad, "Governor, if it comes to it, I'll be calling in my favor."

"You know I can't do that, David. There's proof, what am I supposed to do?"

"That's all fucking bullshit and you know it!" David yelled, pointing at my father.

They continued to argue back and forth, David was getting nowhere with my father.

"Come on, Lexi." David motioned for me to follow. I grabbed my purse and headed towards the door with the boys.

"What? Where are you going?" My father asked. My mother looked upset.

"She's coming home with us, where she's safe and people believe her." David hissed, grabbing my arm.

"Alexis, stay-"

"Why? I'm going to be there for Lucas, I love him Dad and I'm begging you to trust me on this."

He closed his eyes, shaking his head as he turned away from me.

That hurt. Dad and I have always had a great relationship. We were close and could talk to each other about anything, so what changed? I couldn't believe me loving Lucas would change him that much, I wished he would just give him a chance to see what I see in Lucas.

"Bye Mom." I said, walking out the door with David and the other guys.
