"Alright you lot come this way!" Hagrid shouted as he ushed the 3rd years into the entrance of the forbidden forest, "don't worry we aren't going in to deep just far enough to see where she is kept, I've got a real treat for you guys i do!" Hagrid shouted once more. "God this is going to be good," Mia heard someone say from behind her, "if this brute has a surprise for us what are the odds he is going to get us killed?" she heard the same voice say as a chorus of laughter could be heard clearly laughing at the boy's joke. "Watch your mouth I doubt Dumbledore would hire an incapable teacher again and besides he is doing a good job so shut your gob and follow him!" Mia snapped at the boy, however the face staring back at her was not one she would have liked to see, Draco Malfoy. Draco slowly looked the girl up and down before deciding to speak. "You want to say that again Snape?" he said in a strong commanding voice, "i-i," Mia stammered before regaining her confidence "I said watch your mouth, Malfoy," Malfoy gave a quick hollow laugh followed by once more looking her up and down and then biting his lip and taking a step towards her till they were only inches away. "A feisty one you are,'' Malfoy said in a coarse voice, he could tell Mia was becoming more and more flustered each second that passed, but Mia was not about to back down, she couldn't, she wouldn't. Instead she replied in an equally blunt tone as to show no weakness to that irresistible Malfoy charm, "you have no idea..." As soon as Mia uttered those words an even larger smirk grew on Draco's face. "Is that so?" he replied, closing the gap ever so slightly. Mia could feel her face heating up second by second. She looked deep into Draco's deep cloudy grey eyes as to try and assert dominance but instead ended up getting lost in them. His eyes were perfect in every way except for the horrors they had seen. "Come on, you lot! No dilly dallying!" Hagrid's voice could be heard from inside the forest. This seemed to break Mia from her trance as she quickly turned on her heels and walked away from Malfoy letting out a sigh of relief as she did. 'How could she let Malfoy inside her head?' Mia thought. Mia had never really taken much notice of Malfoy instead thinking that it was a waste of her time to speak to a bigot like him; however in that moment he seemed different, yes he was flirty as he always was but his eyes, his deep grey eyes showed vulnerability and fear...

"Oh and turn to page 300 in the monster book of monsters!" Hagrid shouted, "and how do you suppose we do that?" Mia heard Malfoy ask, Mia quickly turned around and shouted "you stroke the spine idiot!" Malfoy gave the girl a glare before proceeding to stroke the spine and opening the book without being attacked. Neville however wasn't so lucky and ended up being eaten alive by the book. As soon as Mia saw Nevilles struggle she took the book off him, stroked its spine so it did not attack anyone, then helped Neville up. "Thanks," Nevil said, slightly embarrassed by his ordeal, "don't mention it," Mia quipped. Suddenly she heard Draco agen getting himself into another argument, seriously this kid has a talent for pissing people off. "Oh yeah terribly funny, really witty. God this place has gone to the dogs, wait until my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes!" Draco said, clearly trying to get a reaction out of Harry, Ron or Hermione which he succeeded in. "Shut up Malfoy!" Harry hissed between his greeted teeth, "who ho ho ho!" Malfoy howed as his minions laughed. Draco slung his bag of his shoulder and handed it to Crabb before strutton towards Harry while judging him every step of the way. Harry shifted on his feet when suddenly fear filled Malfoy's face before he screamed, "Dementor, dementor!" Everyone turned in the direction that Malfoy was pointing in, only to discover that there wasn't in fact a dementor but a harsh prank Malfoy pulled on harry. He no doubtedly did this because he knew Harry passed out on the train to Hogwarts. Mia simply rolled her eyes before walking to the front of the class, only to be stunned silent as to what she saw. "This is a hippogriff!" Hagrid said, pointing at the animal that stood before him. It had the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse; but the front legs, wings, and head of what seemed to be a giant eagle, with a cruel, steel-colored beak and large, brilliant orange eyes. The talons on its front legs were half a foot long and deadly looking. "Now hipogriffs are proud creatures, insult them and it may be the last thing you do..." hagrid warned, "now who would like to come and say hello?" instinctively the whole class took a step back, well that was the whole class except Harry who just stood there oblivious to the fact that the whole class had left him at the front. "Well done harry well done!" Hagrid said to Harry as he looked around to see he was left standing at the front. "Well come on then!" Hagrid said as he pushed Harry to the front. Hagrid then explained the proper etiquette to approach a hippogriff. At first Mia was convinced Harry was going to die as the hippogriff raised his front legs as if to attack Harry but then it backed down bowing to Harry, but no one expected what Hagrid was going to do. "Right now you can ride it!" Hagrid said triumphantly, "what?!" Harry said as he tried to protest but it was too late. Hagrid picked him up and put him on the hippogriffs back. "Make sure not to pull his feathers!" Hagrid called as he gave the animal a kick and with that it charged for the crowd of students only to go soaring into the air above the stunned class of 13 year olds. "Now what?" Mia asked Hagrid as he proudly stood, "Well I erm didn't plan that far ahead if I'm being honest, erm just talk among yourselves until he comes back," Hagrid said to the whole class. A buzz of excitement filled every conversation all sharing admiration for Harry and how he managed not to get killed by the hippogriff.

Mia stood around for a few minutes unsure what to do with herself since all her friends had different lessons until someone came up to her. "Hey," said a familiar voice, "what do you want Malfoy?" Mia snapped, "Whoa, calm down Snape I'm not here to kill you jesus!" Draco said defensively, "oh yeah then what do you want?" Mia asked "To have a civilised conversation, is that too much to ask?" Draco questioned, "depends..."

"On what?" Draco asked, "if you behave or not," Mia said cockly, as she felt a surge of bravery pulse through her veins, she was going to beat Draco at his own game and see how he liked it... "I can't promise anything," Draco said, looking her up and down. Whatever ounce of confidence Mia had suddenly shriveled up and left, her knees felt significantly weaker as Draco edged closer, "what cat got your tongue?" Draco teased. Mia was lost for words, any witty comebacks that she had up her sleeves she suddenly forgot, her mind was blank. Draco took another step forward. "You're pathetic like everyone else,'' he whispered in her face before turning on his heels and leaving her standing alone once more. 'What just happened?' Mia wondered.

Soon after that Harry and buckbeak landed back on the ground welcomed by a round of applause by the students. "Well done Harry, well done" Hagrid praised the boy. "Oh please!" Draco shouted from the back as he made his way to the front. "Yeah you're not dangerous at all aren't you? You great ugly brute" Draco mocked the creature. "Malfoy, get back!" a panicked hagrid called, but it was too late, buckbeak decided that he didn't like Draco as he reared up on his hind legs and knocked the young Malfoy to the floor. Hagrid quickly grabbed Buckbeak and calmed him down whilst Draco rolled around on the floor clutching his arm and letting out the odd yelp while shouting, "its killed meh, its killed meh!" Everyone was silent until Hermione called out that he had to be taken to the hospital wing immediately. "Erm yes you are right errrrr...." Hagrid said as his eyes scanned over his students, "Mia take Malfoy to the hospital wing will you!" Hagrid ordered, "What, why me?" Mia shouted back, "you want to be a healer yes? Well it's good training for that!" As much as Mia did not want to help the over dramatic Malfoy to the hospital wing she had no choice. So she helped him up off the floor and walked back to the castle with his arm over her shoulder which helped him walk.
