Elli's POV
The next morning I meet up with Ivy at school. She is still shocked I'm actually going to one of our assemblies. I haven't attended one in years now. They're mendatory, but they can't punish me if they cant find me.
Together we go to the assembly. The gym is already pretty filled. But not as many people are here. Our school definitely has more students than that. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one skipping those. Where's even the point? We get information which later is being sent to the students' legal guardians. No need to show up then.
I'm extremely nervous for Julie. I can't even imagine how nervous she must be. She's not here yet. Carrie, Julie's ex-best friend, is. She always wants to be the center of attention. Some people hate on her for it. I don't. I think everyone has a reason for the way they're acting. As long as it doesn't harm anyone, I like to keep my distance from the drama.
I think this has something to with her Dad. Yes, he's rich and famous, but I don't think she gets enough attention from him, so she seeks for it somewhere else. Like here in school. I know she can seem bitchy sometimes, but I'm convinced she's actually a great person. She's talented. That's for sure. Her lyrics are a bit narcissistic a lot of the time, but everyone has to get their inspiration somewhere.
She is performing with her group called "Dirty Candy". If I were on her PR team I would have a lot of fun designing stuff like posters or merch. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of sweet slogans that go with it. See what I did there?
Soon after they started to perform, Julie and Flynn walk in. That's good. I guess, she's really doing this. I'm proud of her. She's gonna be great. Out of nowhere the boys appear. I didn't know they could to that.
But that's beside the point right now. I'm happy they here. They seem like supportive friends and I love that for Julie. She needs all the support she can get. I hope she knows we're all here for her.
I see Reggie looking at Carrie's performace. He looks a bit taken back. I find that very amusing. He somehow always gets me to smile even though he isn't really doing anything. He's like a happy puppy.
He's like a golden retriever...
That's what I said to Alex yesterday. It's even more fitting than I thought.
Dirty candy finish their performance and our principle starts to talk "Thank you Dirty Candy! That was sweet!" I laugh at that, but people are giving me a weird look. None of them are laughing. Maybe my slogan ideas from before aren't as funny as I thought. Anyways...
This is your chance Julie. Come on. If anyone can do this, it's you.
I see her, Luke, Alex and Reggie talking. Luke seems to have the biggest part in this conversation. I feel like he likes Julie. Is there something going on between him and my sister? I mean, there's just no way he would just do this for anyone. He has to like her, right. He even gave Julie one of his songs if I'm not mistaken. I think that's what Alex told me.
Everyone is starting to leave. No guys, you can't leave. Not before Julie sings. She gets on stage and after playing a note she stops again. Keep going. You can do this.
She looks at the boys at starts playing again. I then look at Reggie. I didn't even realise he isn't wearing his leather jacket today. He looks exactly like he did in my dream.
I guess he really isn't just leather jacket boy anymore. There's more to him. There is like this bright aura surrounding him. He always looks happy. His smile is so pure. He seems like a great person to be around. I should really talk to Alex and see what he thinks what I should do and how I should do it.
They join in. How did they do that? How did they get their instruments on stage? I wonder what everyone else here thinks considering they should be able to hear them play. Where do they think the music is comming from?
But then I realise... They can be seen. Everyone in here can not only hear but see them. How is this possible?
Luke starts singing and shortly after that Reggie and him are sining face to face into his microphone. That was... wow. They sound great. They are great. All of them. Julie, Alex, Luke and especially Reggie. I think that might just be me... But like I said all of them are amazing.
"Bright forever", they sing. Like Reggie. He's bright and I hope that is a feature he will never lose. Not for the people around him. Not for him. He deserves all the happines.
After that Julie and Luke start sharing a microphone. They get pretty close and Reggie and Alex are smiling whilst giving them a look.
Wait. So was I right? Is there something going on? I wanna know...
The two of them even run through each other. Have fun explaining that one. I wouldn't know how. Good luck with that.
I keep looking at Reggie. He's like a light in the dark you're just drawn to. He like a star. No... He isn't just a star, he is the sun.
The song comes to an end and all for of them seem extremly happy.
Then all that can be heard is a gasp from the crowd.
