"Do you even wan to get out Evelyn?" "No, he will hurt us." "If we get out he won't be able to hurt us. Well, If you don't want to get out, whatever, well I am getting out. If anybody wants to come with me they can." I said as I look my hair pin out of my hair, my bangs fell into my face. "Well, if you're trying to leave, I'm coming, but you have to untie me first." Ruth said as she turned so I could untie her hands. Once she was out, Zoey asked me to do the same. I picked up the pin I dropped and started to pick the lock. It took a few minutes, but it opened. I slipped out and looked around the room. the ceilings were taller, and that was a relief. My knees were starting to hurt.

"Be quiet and follow my lead." I whisper as I lead them out of the bedroom. It was like 10 degrees warmer in the bedroom and closet. I heard footsteps and quickly leaned against the wall, the others did the same. I kept in the shadows until I found the room where the leader was talking. "Shh. I want to hear what they are saying." They were terrified. I could tell by the look on their faces. "We need to keep killing. It will weaken the next generations. But we should do it slowly so we can gain in numbers." The others in the room agreed. "Lets go guys." I whispered walking toward the door. They followed without hesitation. We walked out of a door on the side of the castle. I saw guards and people on the streets. I ran into the forest behind the castle.

I scanned the woods for something to tell us which direction the vampires castle was at. About 30 yards away I saw a break in the trees. "Guys, look a break in the trees. Lets go." We ran along the woods so no no twigs would snap. We had come so far, and Evelyn didn't even come with us. Once we reached the break, it was clear that the path stretched for a long distance. Then, we ran, so fast the trial and trees was a blur. I could hear guards in the distance running toward us. We just kept running. They had some stamina, because I got tired after only 2 minutes of running. My legs hurt and I wanted to stop, but I had to keep going. I wouldn't be caught. But this was too easy.

I assumed that the leader was focused on others things and we weren't his first priority. It was too easy to get away. When he noticed we were gone, then he would come back, and he would be mad. I slowed to a jog to hear if any guards were still following us. When I didn't hear anything, I turned to see nothing. Good. Ruth and Zoey slowed too, we were tired, but we kept walking. When the sky was black and the stars were out we decided to get a drink. We went our separate ways then met back at the path.

"That was the best feed I've had in a really long time." They both said in unison. We slept on the path, a hard dirt path with rocks here and there. In the morning we would find our way back. In the distance I could see where the plains began.
