Chapter 24. Sound and Konoha unite

Itachi,

Sasuke will not be used for your little redemption plan. Now you have a choice to make, you can either explain the massacre yourself, or have the village do it for you. I will not allow him to be manipulated any further. Danzo is imprisoned, and the people that matter in this village know the truth. Akatsuki will not be in business for long, so you either return to the village or die by my hands.

I was sitting in the Hokage's office doing paperwork and wearing the hat because why not? I'd basically been made temporary Hokage, might as well wear the damn hat.

Minato was in the labs with Orochimaru teaching him everything about science with Kabuto and mini Kakashi, and Sai was sitting on the couch to my left drawing out the manga for the novels.

"Severus-sama, can people really enjoy sex in this position? It seems inaccurate." Sai questioned. He then showed me the sketch of the scene he was trying to draw out. The two men were horribly entangled, with limbs in all directions.

"Ah no, you've misinterpreted that one."

Occasionally I'd summon people to my office to tell them new plans for development of the village, and sometimes people would come here on their own to ask something of me.

Though it was awkward having them walk in while I explained different positions to my apprentice with clones. I should start using genjutsu from now on.

I also had my shadow clones off helping with various things and making sure things were running smoothly and effectively. My root minions were finally taking missions alongside Konoha shinobi, and all the recruits under the age of ten were placed in the academy to become shinobi the normal way. Which just so happened to be all of them. I had needed to contract Yamato to expand the academies and I'd hired retired shinobi to become teachers until new ones could be properly trained.

I'd incorporated some of Naru-chans and Kurama-sama's ideas and built civilian schools for non shinobi children. Which had brought my standing even higher with all the civilians.

I'd basically had a full two months with the hat, one month with a shadow hat, and another month with a temporary hat. Until finally, Tsunade returned to the village.

That day found me, Tsunade, Jiraiya, Naruto, and Sai in the Hokage office.

"Severus-nee-chan!" Naruto cried out as he ran towards me, dodging Jiraiya's grabby hand and jumping over the desk to knock me and my chair back into the wall with the force of his hug.

I quickly wrapped my arms around the boy and snuggled him onto my lap affectionately, burying my face into the child's neck to nuzzle. I almost gagged at the scent of toads permeating him, but I ignored it and tried to focus on the scent of foxes and the village.

He smelled like prey, and it really confused my instincts. It was the reason why I didn't like being anywhere near Jiraiya. I disliked that I would sometimes imagine chopping him into pieces and frying him with vegetables. I wouldn't allow myself to have such thoughts about Naru.

He was far to precious.

"Naru, how was your mission?" I murmured as I absently undid tangles in his hair with my fingers.

"It was alright," Naruto responded with a shrug as he sat back on my lap and looked up at me. "I learned this cool new jutsu that ero-sennin taught me!"

"I suppose you'll have to show it to me then, just let me toss this heavy hat and we'll go." I promised as I pulled the hat off my head and whipped it at Tsunade. With all my strength.
