<Smut Warning ⚠️ >

Rock Lee was fiddling with the bandages on his fingers with obvious nervousness. His mind was muddled with conflicting thoughts, and his  heart was heavy with guilt and emotional turmoil.

Gai-sensei had just finished giving him a speech about youth and the proper way to treat women. And yet he found himself unable to find the motivation to continue with this farce.

The farce of this relationship he'd suddenly found himself in with the beautiful and strong Sakura Haruno. It had been two years now since the fateful day where Sakura had accepted his proposition for a date.

He'd been on cloud nine for so long that he hadn't even realized that Sakura didn't actually have feelings for him. They'd been on dates every other month, going on dinners, having picnics, and occasionally training together.

He'd watched her grow to love taijutsu as much as he did, along with her passion for medic ninjutsu under the apprenticeship of the fifth Hokage, Tsunade. He'd also watched as she sent love struck gazes to Sasuke Uchiha, who had been training under Orochimaru.

He always thought that as long as they went on dates, that she'd come to notice him instead. That those lingering gazes would eventually be turned on him as he did his best to move mountains for her.

It never did.

Lee looked down at his green outfit and pinched the fabric on his hips between his fingers. He knew he wasn't the epitome of handsome like Sasuke, and he never wanted to be. He'd always been proud of himself, and his looks.

He didn't have that typical face that society had decided was handsome, but he never had a problem with it. He had big eyes and thick lashes, though his eyebrows were painfully plucked and maintained now after Sakura threatened him last year. He had an average sized nose and curved lips, a smaller than average chin and a wide jaw. His hair was neatly trimmed into a bowl cut that he ceremoniously maintained every month, and comfy dark green training gear.

He had other clothes besides his training gear, but he hardly wore it since he usually spent all his free time training anyway. It wasn't like he could afford to do anything else when everyone else was leaving him in the dust. He hardly even had time for Sakura, but he always made sure he had one day of every month set aside, just for her.

Which brought him back to his nervousness.

Rock Lee wasn't sure if he wanted to see her anymore. He was beginning to feel guilty for letting her take him on dates when he knew she wouldn't ever have an interest in him like that. He was conflicted because he didn't know why she continued to do this to herself.

Until recently he had thought that maybe she was growing feelings for him and had just wanted to explore them and get to know who he was. And yet she never showed anything more than friendship towards him. Sometimes even less when he asked to hold hands or walk her home. (Punching him)

But she always said they were dating to anyone who asked.

Lee settled down into his bed and wondered if he should just use this day he'd set aside for Sakura on something else. He was already late to picking her up at her place anyway.

He knew he was being extremely unyouthful, but he just didn't want to go. He didn't want to go there and put all his effort into this relationship only to have her stare at other guys the way he wanted her to stare at him! He was tired of it!
