Once again, another day had passed. And Mal now only had five days left to find the businessperson that Donovan was looking for.
And she knew that she needed to start looking for that person, but she just didn't know where to start.

Evie saw Mal deep in thought when she was supposed to be doing her homework. "What's on your mind, Mal?" She asked the girl.

Mal was broken from her thoughts as she looked up at Evie. "Oh! Nothing." She lied. "I was just, trying to think of the right answer to this question."

Evie nodded. She couldn't help but feel as if Mal was keeping something from her. But of course Mal was going to keep secrets, she still didn't know her that well. She was trying to get to know Mal, and for Mal to get to know her. But Mal, was just a stubborn person, she guessed.

"Well, I'm hungry, so I think I'm going to head down to dinner. You want to come join me?" She asked Mal.

Mal thought for a minute. Should she join Evie? But maybe if she didn't, she could use that opportunity to begin looking for the businessperson. "Uh, no thanks. I'm not very hungry." She came up with an excuse.

"Ok, I guess I'll see you when I get back." Evie replied leaving the dorm.

And once Mal waited long enough for Evie to be gone, she, too, left the dorm to begin her search. She thought of different ways to go about her search, and she decided to sneak into Fairy Godmother's office and go through the students files until she found the student she was looking for.

When she made it to the office, she looked through the window to make sure nobody was inside. And when she saw that the coast was clear, she slowly opened the door and walked inside. She headed over to the file cabinet and looked through file after file looking for the student that ran the business, but there was nothing. Absolutely nothing!

"Ugh! Where are you!?" She yelled out in frustration.

But that was when she heard Fairy Godmother talking to someone while coming to her office. Which meant that she had no time to run out of there. But she wasn't about to get caught. She quickly scanned the room, looking for a place to hide. Before she ran into the small closet leaving the door open a crack, just as Fairy Godmother walked in, talking on the phone.

"Yes...yes, I got it and it will be waiting for you on my desk when you get here.." She heard Fairy Godmother say to whoever she was on the phone with.

As she talked to the person for a little bit longer while walking around the room. She finally ended the call, took some papers off her desk, before she left the office. Mal was quick to get out of the small closet that had begun to make her feel cramped and went back to looking through the files, determined to find the businessperson.

But before she could even think to do anything, Fairy Godmother opened the door and came back into her office only to find Mal looking through the file cabinet. "What are you doing in here?" She asked her.

Mal froze just staring at the woman in shock. "Uhh..looking for something?" She answered as more of a question.

"In my file cabinet? You are not supposed to be in here, especially looking through those files. Now please get out." Fairy Godmother said firmly pointing towards the door.

Mal closed the file cabinet before leaving the office and heading back to her dorm, where Evie was after eating dinner. "Where did you go?" Evie asked Mal.

"Nowhere in particular." Mal replied not about to tell Evie where she had really been.

Evie slammed her hands down on her desk as she stood up giving Mal a hard stare which made Mal feel very intimidated.

"I'm tired of this! Sick and tired!" Evie yelled.

"What?" Mal asked confused.

"You not telling me anything!" Evie yelled in reply. "Why do you do you keep things from me?!"

"Well excuse me, but I hardly even know you! I only met you like two days ago!" Mal replied.

"But that doesn't mean we can't be friends!" Evie said. "Mal, come on! We could be really good friends if you actually made an effort to get to know me."

"Well did you ever stop and ask me if I want to be friends with you?!" Mal yelled. "I don't want friends. And I most certainly don't need them either! Them as in you. No offense to you or anything, but I don't like you."

"Yeah, cause that's so not offensive!" Evie yelled sarcastically. "What do you have against friends?!"

"Because I've never had one!" Mal yelled. "I've been alone all my life. My own mother was never around, she's a workaholic, okay?! I wanted to get her attention off of work for just a little bit. But I ended up getting expelled from my old school and my mom sent me here! There! Now you know everything!"

Evie was left in a state of shock, just staring at Mal, sympathy in her eyes. "I get it." She replied looking down at the ground.

"You do?" Mal asked.

"Mom troubles? Yeah, of course I do." Evie told her. "My mother was always pressuring me to be nothing short of perfect. She wanted me to marry into a wealthy family. So she sent me here, where all the rich people go. So I find myself a rich boyfriend and marry him once I graduate. My mom doesn't care about. All she cares about, is money, wealth, and power. All she saw me as, was a ticket to get exactly what she wanted in life. So yes, I get it. And I'm sorry for yelling at you."

Mal looked down at her feet, she thought that she was the only person in the world who had it rough, with a mom who never paid attention to her. But Evie, of all people, was the one who could relate to her. In fact, Evie might have had it rougher. "No, I'm the one who should be sorry. I had no idea you had been going through trouble with your mom, too."

"It's fine." Evie said. "Sometimes, we just see people how we want to see them."

"Yeah. But maybe you're right. Maybe, we can be friends. I'm willing to try if you are." Mal said standing up and walking closer to Evie.

Evie gave her a soft, gentle smile. "Of course I'm willing to try. So let's start over. Hi, I'm Evie." She said holding out her hand.

"I'm Mal." She replied before shaking Evie's hand which Evie quickly turned into a hug. "So..are we friends now?"

"Yeah, I'd say we are."
