Emma's POV (Point Of View)
"Emma, please don't forget your 18th birthday waltz is tonight!" I heard my mom say for the thousandth time this morning. "I promise I won't mom" I responded as happily as I could with this whole situation.
I never liked all of these princesses things. The dresses and tiaras, crowns and heels were never my thing, much less a waltz. My mother always says that they are the perfect opportunity to meet people, especially princes. But that is the problem, I don't want to meet princes, much less date one, which I'm sure is what she wants.
I was always more into sword fighting and I loved my bow and arrow, those were the things I will always love. A knock on the door got me out of my train of thoughts.
"Come in!" I shout as I stand up from my bed. The door opened revealing my dad, who was smiling. "Happy 18th Birthday, my girl!" he said before pulling me into a hug.
"Thanks dad!" I exclaim with a smile while hugging back.
"I have a little detail for you. I hope you like it" he announced with a happy tone. He then handed me a little dark blue box. I opened it and it had a beautiful diamond necklace. The diamond was rhombus shaped and it shined a lot. It was simply breathtaking.
"Thank you so much! It is beautiful!" I explained full of happiness before pulling him into a hug.
"I'm glad you liked it. It was my mother's. She said that if I ever had a daughter, she would love it if I gave it to her. And here I am, giving it to my only and perfect daughter" He explained happy as he helped me putting it on.
"Dad, that is so sweet! Thanks so much!" I said once more. "You're welcome, Emma. Now, let's go downstairs, I bet you are hungry" he said with a smile, and he wasn't wrong. Not more than 5 seconds latter my stomach started making noises and we laughed. When I got downstairs I was received by a huge hug from my mom. "Happy Birthday again Emma" she said as I hugged her back with a huge smile on my face.
"Thanks mom" I said as we both pulled back. "I have a surprise for you... Close your eyes" she sweetly ordered, excitement evident in her voice. I nodded and closed my eyes, not more than a few seconds she asked me to open them and I did so.
I was taken aback by what I saw. It was a beautiful golden bow and arrow bracelet with little diamonds on it. "Thank you so much! I love it mom!" I explained before pulling her into another tight hug.
"You're welcome, and I'm happy you do" she adds sincerely before we all went to sit down on the table for breakfast. Just when we finished it, Laura, one of the kitchen helpers, followed by all the kitchen personal brought a red velvet cake with 18 candles on it. They all sang happy birthday and asked me to blow the candles. "And don't forget the wish" said Laura with giggle. I nodded and giggled.'I wish to find true love. Not with a prince, if is possible. With someone who isn't arrogant and boring, but with someone who makes me laugh and who cares for me' I wished for that in my head before blowing out the candles.
