Sunday came. I don't have work today. I was thinking of inviting Veronica to have a date with me outside the house. But it's already past nine yet she's not awake.

I sighed and went out of our room. I was about to cook our breakfast when I heard my phone rung. I went to the living room to get my phone. I saw an unknown number that was calling me. The second time, my phone rang. I immediately answered it.

"Hello?"

"Harold Lex Washton."

My eyebrow arched when I heard the caller say my whole name.

"Who's this?"

"I am Veronica's father. Didn't my assistant tell you that one of these days we'll meet up?"

"He said, Mr. Martin."

"Good. I am here at a cafe near your house. I'll be waiting for you here. Now."

The moment he dropped the call, I went to the kitchen to put back the ingredients I took out from the refrigerator. I ran towards the room and went to the bathroom to take a quick bath. I should look presentable in front of Veronica's father.

I used the war perfume that I bought at Warren's store. This is the best perfume that I packed with me. I wore the clothes that I got from modelling. It looks good but formal.

I drove my car to the cafe that Mr. Martin's talking about. As I stopped my car in front of that cafe, I saw Mr. Martin seating next to the glass door. He really is waiting for me.

I checked myself in the rear view mirror of my car before going out. I walked towards the cafe door with poise. I'm sweating bullets, but still, I should look okay in front of her father.

"Good morning, Mr. Martin!" I smiled at him.

He stood up and lent his hand to me. I gladly accept it. He pointed to the chair that was in front of him. I sat on that chair and looked at Mr. Martin who was looking at me intently.

"Mr. Martin?"

"I haven't called you here for nothing. You know that, right?"

I nod at what he said.

"I won't sugarcoat anything. I'll go straight to the point . . . I don't like you for my daughter."

"Sir?" Shock was plastered on my face.

"I know your relationship with my daughter. And I don't like it."

"Sir, with all due respect, what do you want me to do?"

"I won't ask you to leave my daughter."

"Yes, sir. Cause I won't leave Veronica."

"You're strong, a! But I still don't like you."

"Veronica and I already made it. You know what I mean, sir."

Next thing I knew, his personnel was holding me and helping me to stand up. I can taste blood coming out from my lips. I wipe it using the back of my hand. I looked at Mr. Martin's eyes.

"I won't be sorry for doing that. I don't have any regrets either. I love her. If you don't like me to be with her, then just think for the happiness of your daughter."

His personnel forced me to sit down on the chair I was sitting earlier.

"That punch was for deflowering my daughter. You haven't put a ring on my daughter's finger yet you already deflowered her?" He gritted his teeth.

I didn't answer him.

"What are your plans? Huh?"

"I plan to marry her. But this is not the right time. Someone wants Veronica to be dead," I said.
