When Mario and Meggy made it back to the castle. Mario made sure to make it seem like nothing had happened. Meggy was doing the same thing. Mario opened the door of the castle and held it open for Meggy to go inside. She smiled at him as she passed with the same smile as previously from the night. When they reached the foyer, they both stopped in their tracks when they heard the click of a watch.
Mario turned to see Trident standing with a stopwatch in his hands.Trident: You're three hours late.
Mario: Gah! Why are you there!?
Meggy: You've been waiting there the whole time?
Trident: What can I say? I'm trained to be patient. Three hours is a walk in the park if you think that's forever.
Mario: How weird are you?
Trident: Very. By the way, I know what's going on here.
Meggy: *thoughts* No. He can't know. Right?
Mario: Uh...What do you know?
Trident: Don't think I can't notice what's going on between you two.
Meggy: What!? How do you know!?
She covered her mouth in embarrassment as her face goes red.
Trident: I just do. You need to do a better job at hiding things when you're around me.
Mario: We were trying our hardest!
Meggy: Did...Did you like watch us or something?
Trident: No. It's your body language.
Meggy: Fine. You caught us. We had a Moment back at the bridge near the castle, and it kind of escalated to the next step pretty quickly.
Trident: Uh. What?
Meggy: Oh shit. You weren't thinking what we were thinking.
Trident: No. I was thinking...
His eyes widened.
Trident: Did...Did you two...? Are you two...a thing?
Mario: Oh no...
Trident: Wow. It's about time.
Meggy: Please don't tell anyone about this.
Trident: You think I will? You should worry more about Mario.
Mario: Hey!
Trident: Sorry. You've got a big moth sometimes. By the way, what triggered it to happen?
Meggy: Triggered what?
Trident: You said, you had a moment?
Meggy: Oh yeah. Me and Mario got stalked for most of the walk home.
Trident: Did you call anyone to help?
Mario: We...didn't think of anyone at the time.
Meggy: And nothing we were doing was working, so when we got to a bridge, I just told him to kiss me and it worked. He left us alone after that.
Trident: Huh.
He turned to Mario.
Trident: Why wasn't this your idea? Come on, man. You should be the one wooing her, the other way around.
Mario: Oi! Not cool! I was nervous!
Meggy: *jokingly* He's right.
Mario: Hey! Who's side are you on!?
