You told me two nights ago that you needed more space.
Your voice held remorse, and a little hint of sadness, and
I couldn't see your face because,
We were both looking up onto our white ceiling that night, and the waxing moon reflecting inside our shared room.
Aaron, could you describe the facial expression you had on when you told me those eight words I still recall to this very moment?
'Give me more space, you are so clingy.'
Which part of me was clingy?
Your cell was never turned on when you went out,
You never even let me ask where you were going before you stepped out the front porch,
And you've never allowed me to travel along with you to whatever match it was away from home.
You call that clingy?
What about all the times you called me at four in the morning asking me where I was?
What about all the times you denied me to see my best friend because apparently you wanted to spend time with me?
Was all that not clingy?
Perhaps everyone's speculations and expectations about us were correct -
We were never meant to be and that we should separate before I cause any more disturbances to your training.
And perhaps maybe then, Aaron,
You can have more space.
