"That's not how you do it."

Katie groaned and gave me her cross stitch project. It looks a little messy now, since she kept on doing it wrongly. I sighed and grabbed some scissors to cut off the threads so I can re-do it again for her.

"Why do we even have to do this? Wala naman akong balak mag cross stitch for the rest of my life!" she complained and shook her head in annoyance.

I smiled and started doing it for her. Cross-stitch is our project in school for our Handicrafts class. I enjoy those kind of things because I love sewing and it's my favorite subject. That's the reason why I'm already done with mine and all I have to do is to watch my cousins do theirs.

"It's just annoying! Why do they teach things in school that we won't even use in real life?" she rolled her eyes."Especially that algebra! Bakit? Bigla nalang ba tayong gagamit ng X, chuchu sa buhay natin? Ang alam ko lang, gamitin ang ex ko, para pagselosin ang crush ko!"

Dire-diretso ang dila ni Katie at halatang inis na inis. She hates school. She doesn't find it fun or a good learning environment. Wala daw siyang natututunan.

"Damn, Katie. Tigilan mo na ang paglandi. I thought you are contented with Dash?" Nadine asked and raised her brow.

Umirap si Katie.

"We're not together, and he's off flirting with other girls too." she sighed. "We both like each other, but it doesn't mean that we're both committed to each other. I can still like other guys aside from him..." she explained and blew the hair that went to her face.

Nadine shook her head, while I'm still fixated on this. It's a good thing that I went to Katie's house, since I want to do this again! It's fun for me!

"Hoy, blue eyed princess!" tawag ni Katie kaya napa-angat ako ng tingin.

"Yes, snow white?" I answered.

Nadine snickered. Si Mireia naman nasa may sofa at nagbabasa ng panibagong libro. She's a study-holic and she can't stop reading a book that's related to school. The complete opposite of Katie.

"Gandahan mo, ha? Bukas na ata deadline niyan. Kaya mo ba?" she asked.

"Of course! Do you want me to sleep here?" I asked. "Para you can see how I work rin. You know, so you can't complain?"

"Okay. That's fine for me." Katie nodded. "Is Tita Clara fine with that?"

Mommy is not strict and she lets me do whatever it is that I want. Kung tutuusin, mas strict pa nga siya kay Prince dahil paborito niya ito. I'm fine with that. Si Papa naman din ang paborito ko at ako rin ang paborito niya.

"You know, I don't have curfews or anything like that since Mommy allows me, everywhere." I told them and continued stitching.

"Wow... sana all." Katie pouted. "You can't relate, right? Nads and Reia?"

Among all the Montereal, Mommy and Papa are the less strict parents. Isama na rin sina Tita Priscilla. Trent and Santi are free to do whatever they want, as long as they go home or tell her about it. Same with me and Prince.

Tita Cordelia and Tita Mersiella are the strictest parents I know. Maybe, that's why Mireia is a study-holic. She always pressures her to do well in school. Meanwhile, the only free one in Katie's family is Drake. Since he's good in everything and he doesn't need tutors, unlike Katie who has 5 tutors.
