The Soundful Skies

Gilinsky's pov:

"What's up guys?" Aaron said into the mic, and everyone started screaming. I looked at Laura who was on the other side of the stage and was talking to Cameron. I kept staring hoping she would see me, when I realized that Aaron had introduced Jack and I and was now looking at me.

"Hey guys!" I turned and smiled, receiving a bunch of screaming and 'I love you's'. I looked over at Johnson who was ready and that's when the lights went out and the music started playing.

We had neon lights and the guys wore animal masks that glowed in the dark.

"Wild like wild life!" Everyone in the audience sang when the lights turned back on and started clapping. Laura was clapping and smiling too. I stood beside Johnson and he smiled.

"Nice job." We fist bumped then went back to stand with the guys.

"Next up is Nash and Cameron, doing a little skit called "Shotgun". Aaron announced. I turned and started talking to Laura when she started tearing.

"Jack I'm scared I'm gonna mess up." She had her arms around me and laid her head on my chest.

"Laura, you won't. Just think that you're practising with Shawn. Just picture yourself somewhere you feel comfortable." She looked up and smiled,

"I'm comfortable in your arms." I smiled back,

"I love having you in my arms. Then picture yourself in my arms singing to me."

"I like that idea." Then she started clapping and I did too when Nash and Cam had finished. She took a deep breath,

"Did my makeup run?" Her eyes were wide open.

"No, you're fine." I ran my thumb across her jaw. She smiled and walked up to Shawn when Aaron announced them.

"Now, singing a duet Shawn and Laura Mendes, singing Show You." The lights went dim and they sat on the stools. Shawn held his guitar and Laura crossed her legs then Shawn started to sing.

"And I will walk this road ahead, one hundred miles on my hands. Do I need to show you? Guess I gotta show you. And if you don't believe me now, I'll flip the whole world upside down. Do I need to show you? Guess I gotta show you." Laura sang along with Shawn and everyone was waving their arms. She was calm and smiled at Shawn as they sang. Her voice was so soft and beautiful. She should sing more often.

A bunch of clapping and screams started occurring as they ended. They held hands and bowed, then Laura gave Shawn a hug and ran towards me.

"What did you think?" She had an anxious looking smile and grasped her hands together.

"I think you were amazing, you have such a breathtaking voice Laura Mendes." I put my arm around her and listened to Aaron.

"Last up is question time then pictures and autographs. Everyone take your seats." He looked at us and we got our stools and sat down. "First question, in the yellow flower shirt." Aaron smiled and pointed at the girl in the third row.

"Eek, okay so um Nash I love you and um how did you and Cam make up the sketch. Which was amazing by the way." Nash smiled and let out a laugh then looked at Cameron. "Well, we made it when we were actually fighting over who got shotgun when we called a cab after school a couple weeks ago. It was funny that we were fighting over it, so we made it a little skit."

A bunch of other girls asked questions when Aaron asked the last one, "Cute little girl in the pink ballerina skirt." She stood up, "Jack do you love Shawn's sister?" We looked at each other, and I didn't know what to say- "Because you always touch her and that's not fair. She doesn't deserve you." A bunch of other girls started nodding and agreeing. Laura looked like she was about to cry when Shawn spoke up.

"Yes they do, and it is fair because they love each other and care for each other a lot." All the guys started clapping and I held Laura and kissed her forehead. Everyone started 'awing' and clapped. I looked at Shawn and smiled, thanking him ad he smiled back.

"Okay, um, time to go into the other room for pictures and autographs." Aaron didn't know what to do next, but the audience ran towards the other room and all the guys got up. 

"I'm so sorry about that." Aaron apologized. "No worries." I said. He held Laura's hand and smiled then ran towards the other room. Taylor went last and walked towards us,

"She was right you know, you don't deserve Laura." And he kept walking, fixing his bandana. Laura just watched him walk away then got up. "I'm going back to the room, I don't need to be here." She smiled then left. "Laura-" I tried calling her back but she just kept walking. I ran towards Taylor and pulled him back into the now empty room.

"You know what you little shit, Laura and I are happy. There is no fucking way you can mess it up. You are so out of the picture so just give up and move on okay?" He seemed calm and replied,

"Listen Jack. I can't move on because we were meant for each other. When you came into the picture and split us up, making her choose? I couldn't even believe you did that and I will never forgive you for that. And I will never give up on getting Laura back. Watch your back Gilinsky." He glared at me and started casually walking back into the other room. 

"I recall her asking me to be in the room with you two back in Texas. She seemed afraid of you." I yelled out, then he ran towards the Magcon backdrop, and took a picture with a girl in a tie dye shirt. And I walked in too.
