Taylor's pov:

"Are you two telling secrets?" I couldn't help but interrupt, it's very rude to whisper at the table.

"Just asking how his food is, how's yours Taylor?" She glared at me still slightly bent over in Jack's direction.

"It's fine." I couldn't think of anything better than that so I went back to eating.

"What do you think they're talking about?" Matt leaned over towards me.

"I don't know but I want to. Wanna ease drop somehow." I whispered back, and he snapped behind us,

"Excuse me- Sammy I'll pay you fifteen bucks if you could go 'clean' that table and ease drop on the couple." Matt muttered over to the waiter. He walked away then came back with a tray and started 'cleaning' the table behind them. They didn't notice, no surprise there, and he left about three minutes later, without cleaning the table, when they finally sat up. The waiter headed towards the kitchen putting away the tray and came back, handing something to Matt as he slipped him the money.

It was on a ripped piece of paper from his notepad,

"That's not possible, he doesn't act like it. Though, I haven't had an actual conversation with him in a while so I guess you could be right."

Matt took a breath then murmured on.

"Just accept the fact that he's madly obsessed, and we need to do something about it."

I looked up from reading and had a feeling that they were talking about me.

"How do you suppose we do that? We make a plan."

Matt then looked up at me before I finished.

"Who do you think they're talking about?" His voice was faint, but understandable.

"Obviously me, I'm not giving up on Laura and we haven't had a conversation in a while so it makes sense. I don't think any of the other guys like her like that." Wait a minute, "Do you like Laura?" I couldn't believe that I haven't seen it,

"Well just as much as the other guys. She's a really good friend and she's so pretty and sweet." He started breathing heavily, "I'm not letting you or Gilinsky get in the way of us." His face starting turning red,

"Whoa Matthew breathe, let's go get some air." The red started fading and he got up,

"We're just going to the store I need a new toothbrush." I told the table then we left. We thanked the waiter on our way out and Matt sat down on the bench outside beside the doors.

"Listen Taylor, I have liked Laura for so long and I don't know if she will ever like me back but I have tried so hard to be a gentleman and you dumb fucks are messing it up." He looked at the street then back at me with a grin, "I haven't punched her, molested her or been an evil monster to her like you have. So It's pretty fucking obvious that she's never going to like you again and she made that pretty obvious back in Texas." He sat back and gazed back at the street.

"She gave me a second chance after that but it all only happened because Gilinsky was in the way." I sat down beside him and laid my head down in my hands.

"Don't forget that she was a bit afraid of you and wanted him in the room with you two." He got up putting his hand on my shoulder and squeezed, "Taylor, you can obsess and drool over her all you want but we all know she's never going to forget your marvelous time together." He patted me on the back, "See ya back inside."

I sat there on the bench and just stared at the passing cars. Matt made perfect sense, I really fucked it up with Laura but maybe we could just be friends. Wait what- why am I falling for that? Wow, what a smooth devil he is.

"He wants me to give up on her so he has less competition. Oh I'll show you competition Matthew." I got up and noticed a couple giving me dirty looks, but I quickly scooted back inside.

"Hey guys." I waved at them then sat next to Matt. "Have we ordered dessert yet? I want something hot, there's quite a breeze outside and I'm a bit chilly." Laura and the guys just stared,

"He just took our plates, he'll be back." Nash spoke still staring.

"For dessert?" Sammy broke the awkward silence after a few minutes. I turned around to face him while he was talking to Laura then looked at Jack.

"Yeah excuse me I'd like something hot, preferably a liquid." Jack, Laura and the waiter looked over at me,

"Well we have something called Luna River, it's a type of melted ice cream but it's not actually melted ice cream. There are the choices of coffee, chocolate or vanilla."

"Coffee sounds great." I smiled while looking at Laura, she let out a small laugh and smiled back. I looked down at the table when my pocket vibrated,

'I don't think coffee is a good idea for you. Maybe your new princess toothbrush can help out.' It was Laura,

'Actually it has fairies on it and makes little majestic sounds when I brush my teeth' I looked up and saw Laura giggle as she put her phone away when Sammy put her fruit salad in front of her,

"Here you go." He put my desert down and handed out the rest.

"Hey Laura do you want some?" I picked up the hot bowl,

"No thank you, coffee is a morning thing." She smiled and picked up her fork when Matt slapped me,

"Oh I'm sorry do you want some-" I turned around just quick enough to spill some onto his pants. He let out a small shriek and Laura got up, taking him to the bathroom.

"Shit, sorry dude. That's not good." Everyone watched them walk away while I sat back down. Sharing with Laura was the perfect way to piss him off, but I put on a worried face and put my bowl back down on the table.
