I surveyed inside the bushes trying to find my peace zone. I could use the normal way where there were no long trees getting to you or lumps of stones on your way but what would be the fun in it. I loved the darkness in the bushes and obstacles that I had such as a passing over a large rock. They were more like a game of finding or reaching safe to your destination. However this place was safe as I have been using it for a year.

A smile formed on my lips when the familiarity of the stretched sky like water got into my vision. The place as usual was quiet and there was a drop in the temperature as my clock ticked. The sun was setting and orange hue swept across the sky. Few birds were heading off to their home nest since darkness was approaching. Their chirping was a music to my ears and I loved to listen to them.

I climbed up a huge rock that was close to the lake. I released a breath of relief as I stared at the far end of the water. The sound of gushing water mixed with the harsh sound of the wind relaxed me. The wind was so brutal that it messed with my hair slapping it to my face and I found a new job of getting it away from my vision now and then. It was getting colder reminding me of the jacket I forgot to carry a long.

I took few pebbles in my hand and started throwing it into the water watching it disappear. I always did this when I had something in my mind and wanted to clear it.

You are a misfortune to everyone you cross path with! These were the words that always haunted me and sucked my peace. I knew I shouldn't be believing it but I couldn't help when everything that happened to me proved it right.

They all died. Did you not notice that you were the cause? Now look around you and tell me someone who you are close to and is breathing let alone smiling. Your mere presence destroys everything! Everything.
I pulled out my hair trying to block the memory that was pushing its way into my mind. I took a big stone, hardly fitting my hand and threw it into the water causing the water splash to me.

"Easy there." The sound was familiar causing my hand to stop next to the stone I was targeting. I scrutinised my eyes trying to discern the guy that stood few metres away from me. His image was swallowed by the darkness since it was around 7p.m.

I sucked in a breath when Sawyer sat next to me sharing the same rock I was sitting on. He smiled up to me and asked, "venting your anger?" Instead of replying him, I asked, "Stalking me aren't you?" He laughed at that shaking his head. I didn't find it funny at all. I came here to clear my mind and here he was angering me more.
I needed to tell him to stay away from me.

"No am not stalking you, I was bored and passed by here to spend sometime around this breath taking place. I fancy nature you know?" He wasn't looking at me, his eyes distant as if he was lost in some memory. I studied him, his crystal blue eyes, his pointing nose, his jawline and his full pink lips. I averted my eyes mentally slapping myself for staring at him.

"Studying me?" He lifted his gaze to find mine.

I shook my head and muttered, "why will I?"

"If I knew the answer do you think I would have asked you?" He asked amused to which I ignored.

I was sitting there silently when Sawyer shifted close to me closing the small gap between us his manly scent reaching my nose. Smells like lemon, I mentally noted.
After minutes of strangely comforting silence Sawyer jerked and crane his neck to scan me debating on something unknown to me. He pursed his lips then sealed it.

"If you have something in your mind you can shoot. I assure you that I don't bite." I needed to hear what was going on in his mind. Sawyer chuckled and shook his head totally amused.

"Was thinking if I could get to know you better. I know nothing other than your name you know." I frowned not ready to open up to someone or say something about myself. In fact there was nothing to say about me. I lived with my aunt who was a traveller and mostly wasn't home. You will find her home once a couple of weeks. I lived by myself alone in my aunt's big house and I wasn't ready to let anyone get a peek into my little pathetic life.

"It won't be that bad you know. Just a few thing about you. Am sure you also want to know a few things about me other than my name. Maybe even where am from?" He sounded unsure as he carelessly uttered those words.

"Am fine with just knowing your name and as for where you are from, I think its obvious from your Canadian accent." He should have noticed long back that I didn't want to befriend him and now I was hoping that he will get out of my way.

Guess I was wrong as he suddenly spoke,
"Am Sawyer Green Miller. Am from Canada, grew up there but moved in here five years back and.." before he could continue, his phone vibrated in his pocket and he raised his butt to remove his phone from his pocket.

When he stared into the screen, his mood changed drastically. He was no longer smiling and his brows knitted due to the frown on his lips. He declined the call and after putting the phone on silent mode , he kept the phone on his lap. He was no longer talking but gazing at the sky.

"Am Rowdey Austen. I moved in here two years back and went to a school close by my home for two years and the school wasn't something close to my choice. The school  was surely a mess with drug dealing students with lots of nasty things and the reason am now in Ridgemount high." I finished taking a deep breath. Sawyer was listening to me keenly but he didn't speak to ask or comment on what I said. The silence stretched till his phone flashed on his lap not breaking the silence this time. My eyes caught the caller ID; Dad.

Sawyer answered the call this time and hollered "what. Can't you let your son have a peaceful moment for once in life?"
I flinched at his harshness and was conquered by fear.

What if he came here to harm me? I almost broke into my panick mode until Sawyer cleared his throat and said, "am sorry if I scared you. I lost control of my anger. Am really sorry." He sighed and run his hand through his dark hair.

"Mind if you share what's wrong with you. What's with the mood change?" Here my curiosity kicked in and I couldn't hold my mouth shut. I heard Sawyer release an audible breath.

"No!" He shouted his voice cutting through the silent atmosphere. "I mean I can't. Am sorry." He said so softly that I thought I imagined it. He stood up and walked into the shore line of the water before scooping it in his hands and splashing it onto his face.

Studying him and his actions, I realized we all had different stories; stories we wanted to conceal from others.
