Flynn's POV:
Jamie pulled away from me and looked to the crying boy, he still had tears running down his face.
"What if I told you I know what happened to June?" He just stood there, at this point I could see him shaking. "Y-You know what happened?" "Mhm.." "please.. please tell me, I miss her so much and even her parents can't find her" At that Jamie stood up shakily, "Tyler, look at me.." the shock was evident on his face, telling me he really didn't have a clue who Jamie is.
"H-How do you know my name? I've never seen you before.." Jamie gave a shaky smile and stepped closer, "can you promise not to freak out..?" He took a deep breathe and nodded.
"June is dead-" "WHAT?!" Jamie jumped at his loud shriek and I stood up just in case. "What do you mean she's d-dead..?!" "Not literally.. but metaphorically" He looked extremely confused and sad, I could tell Jamie felt bad, I also knew this was difficult for him to do- and maybe was more than a little bit worried about the outcome.
"T-This is important Tyler.. would you still want to see her even if she wasn't who you knew anymore?" Tyler paused for a few seconds, "Y-Yes.. do you know where she is..?" Jamie let out a shaky sigh, "I'm right here little prince"
"J-June..?" "It's Jamie now, I'm sorry I shut you out for so long.. I just needed time to figure myself out-"
Before Jamie could say another word Tyler was hugging him tightly sobbing.
I was very thankful Noah was at home because I'm about 80% sure he wouldn't have been able to control his wolf, Tyler is very lucky I have a good handle on my furry beast- because if not the snarling creature would've definitely given him a good smack (possibly with a chair) for hugging our Mate so abruptly- cousin or not, he's become more overprotective of Jamie recently. The smile on Jamie's face was the only thing that kept me sane enough to rein in my beast for the duration of their hug, but finally Tyler let him go.
"Sorry.." I was confused as to why he apologized to me, Jamie seamed just as clueless. "Sorry for what?" He paused for a second- then said something that caught us both off guard. "You're Mates right? I didn't realize until you growled at me" Guess It wasn't just in my head after all. "Yes, we are" at that he smiled, "it's good to know you were safe at least.." "how did you understand a growl so easily? I barely heard it.." he chuckled at that- rubbing the back of his head. "You could say I have more experience with werewolves than most" Now I'm very interested in who Tyler is as a person, looks like we'll be seeing each other more often.
"Okay I'll message you in the morning and we'll catch up, deal?" "Deal, don't forget about me" Jamie smiled and hugged him, then he turned the corner of the car park and was out of sight.
"I-I wasn't expecting to see him tonight.." "how're you feeling?" "I'm.. okay, sorry for worrying you.." he walked over and hugged me, "don't be sorry love, I'm just glad everything turned out alright" "Yeah, why don't we get back to Noah now? I'm sure he's not happy about being alone.." I chuckled at that and kissed his cheek, Noah Is probably out cold in the living room floor by now. But I'm more than happy to go home and get some rest (after we set up the bed that is) It's been a long day..
One week later~~~~~
It's been quite chaotic at the station this past week. Apparently the guy who was in the process of being trialed for sexual assault had connections, turns out on my day off he escaped with the help of some buddies. Now I'm chasing dead ends trying to find him before he can ruin more lives, needless to say I wasn't in a good mood.
These last few days have consisted of me going through our security footage- tracking down license plates that lead nowhere in the end, questioning my own sanity, and coming home to a very needy wolf. Jamie has been spending some time with Tyler this past week, and while I'm glad he's finally got someone to talk to (besides Noah and myself) that also means he isn't with Noah or me all the time anymore. Which I don't have a problem with- but my wolf thinks differently. He's constantly pouting and distracting me from work, desperately trying to go back to Jamie or Noah any chance i give him. I'm still very confused as to why he's getting progressively more protective of Jamie, I knew it was going to happen with Noah (seeing as he's pregnant) but the reason as to why he's getting torn up over Jamie too is eluding me. In the end I just figured it was because of the unfamiliar area and new house (which he has yet to scent mark) and continued working.
A few stressful hours later- and I'm finally opening the front door. I was confused However when I didn't hear Noah running up to hug me, upon further inspection I discovered- Neither of my Mates were in the house, then I heard commotion in the backyard...
