We had only just made it through the wall and onto the platform before the wall closed off. The idea of being early was out the window.
Pansy was frantically fast walking towards the first door of the train. It wouldn't matter how late we were, Pansy wouldn't be caught dead running, even if her life depended on it.Pansy lead me arm in arm towards the Slytherin carriage. I had never spent time in there, I always sat in the Ravenclaw one.
I wasn't nervous about meeting the infamous friends of Pansy. Actually I was more focused on who I was going to be paired up with in the dorms, I was hoping if I had to share we would be aloud to choose who with. But I had always hated sharing a room with other girls. I liked my privacy.
My thoughts were rudely interrupted by a squeal from Pansy, she leaned in to start whispering towards me.
"Look Ke, I'm sure I can fit next to-"
Pansy was sharply cut off."Who the fuck are you obsessing over now Parkinson? Not me anymore? How refreshing." It was cold, the voice of a Malfoy.
"Bitter much, it was a two way thing remember?"
She sounded calm but her grip on my arm tightened slightly.Pansy swung round throwing her hair in his face and nodded towards the carriage door, I started to pull on the handle when he spoke up again. "Who's your little friend, the wannabe raven claw is it?" I turned my head to see him giving me a disgusted look with his upturned mouth.
"What's 'Ke' short for? What's her name again? Traitor, muddy, I can't remember."Now i found myself fully turning around, unlatching myself from Pansy.
vaguely amused by the attempt to be rude.
"Actually it's Keaton, Keaton black." I looked up at him. "Your fellow pure blood remember." I said mockingly. He was tall, significantly taller that me. I liked my height, but it felt pointless trying to feel powerless when he was a foot taller than me.
He was frowning, still with that same look of disgust. It didn't make me angry but I was nervous, I didn't have the energy to not let his words effect me all the time.He was now looking at Pansy in the same way.
"Ah I see, our sweet Parkinson has befriended the girl who hangs around the mudbloods, interesting choice." He spat.
"A year ago Pansy wouldn't of been caught dead with someone like you""If only you grew up along with the rest of us" I laughed
Draco chuckled, looking down on me. "Some areas didn't grow darling."
He shoved past me to the compartment door we was just about to enter. He paused and placed his hand on the handle. He needed to put his final word out there.
"Learn some respect to who your talking to."
"And don't ever fucking speak to me like that again"The vile look in his eye disgusted me.

The train journey was my favourite part, it was peaceful, the way the the train softly bumped along and the humming sound from the tracks.
It was unexplainable but life turned into slow motion. If I watched the outside for long enough it felt like nothing was real anymore.Draco made Blaise move so he could have the window seat and Pansy attempted to fit in next to Blaise. The seats were large enough originally for three but with the way Draco was sat, slightly stretched out, he ended up smooshed against the window. That ended up with him shooting her a silent death look that said said; move-before-I-hex-you.
She glared at him then moved next to me. I don't
blame her I wouldn't want to challenge him either. There was some small talk during the journey, none including Draco.
Although for some reason I was not surprised.I had decided i liked Blaise, we could potentially be friends. We had talked before, sometimes in the common room or in potions class. Overall he had always been friendly towards me.
It quietened extremely down quickly. The atmosphere was dark and dull, matching the mood of the weather.
I noticed Blaise glancing over to the compartment to my right. More than a few times.
That's where Crabbe and Goyle used to sit. I wondered if Crabbe wasn't coming back. It's like Pansy read my mind, she was watching the compartments as well. She leaned over and whispered to me. "He's not coming back this year, he didn't want to complete another year without his best friend. Well that's what I heard anyway"
I jumped, not expecting her to be so close to my ear or talking about what I was just thinking. "Huh?"
"Crabbe obviously, who else? Professor Snape, or should I say the dead Professor Snake" she giggled a little.
I grinned a little but eyed Pansy, she was inappropriate at the worst of times which made me laugh, but I knew he was never one of the bad guys.
"Ok ok he was a dick, but let's respect the dead," I frowned. "Ok well we don't have to respect them all"Pansy opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by a hard scoff coming from the corner. Knowing it was Draco without looking I raised my eyebrow, silently motioning for Draco to say what he obviously wanted to say. He placed his cup on the table, a bit harder than normal, sloshing some of the unknown liquid beside it.
"Usually, the dead deserve to be dead" He looked up at me, "do they not? Black?"
I hated being called by my last name but it's Malfoy and that's his thing so i left it alone, but if it was anyone else I would have told them what I'd prefer.
Although I wasn't sure why he was asking me in specific. I guessed he was interested in finding out what irks me, and how to get under my skin, but
I didn't take my eyes off the view out the window, and just muttered "sometimes.""Where's Theo?" Blaise mentioned.
No one said anything.
He probably got the idea of the deafening silence and didn't say anything else after that. No one did.I liked to call myself observant, I liked to watch the things going on around me rather than be a part of them. It felt like I always had an eye open to what what going on around me.
I was watching Draco and how he was refilling his coffee cup with a fancy looking flask, engraved with the letters D.M.
The way he ever so slightly turned up his nose with each slip answered my guesses around the contents of the metal container. It definitely wasn't extra milk for his coffee, unless it was sour.
