Hiccstrid One Shots

Black Friday Tension

Couldn't sleep so I'm writing a quick modern one shot.

Astrid grabbed her coat, ran out the door and jumped into the car. Hiccup picked up the baby bag, picked up the carry crib which held baby Nuffink and hoisted Zephyr further up his side.
"Astrid! Babe! Don't you think your forgetting something?" Astrid went into a deep thought and then said, "no I don't think so, what did you think I was forgetting?" Hiccup rolled his eyes, "YOUR FAMILY!"he said as he struggled out the door.
Astrid had a look of guilt on her face, "Oh I'm sorry baby, you know how excited I get when its Black Friday!" she said as she knelt on the seat facing into the back of the car where Hiccup was fighting with Zephyr to strap her in. Astrid also added in a sneaky air kiss to him which he ignored.
"What's up with you? You usually catch my air kisses and then blow one back?"
Hiccup couldn't hold it in anymore so he let out his thoughts.
"Babe you know I love you but you haven't been really helping me out lately since you got that new job!" Astrid was stunned, "you said you were proud of me and that you would support me!" Hiccup rolled his eyes, "I did, it's just I'm trying to help you out and even when you are home on the weekends you don't help with the kids, your their mother they need you!"
Astrid now began to get upset, "I'm supporting my children financially at the moment, and I wish I could be home more often but I can't so please can you just back off for a second and give me some space!"
Hiccup felt sympathetic, "oh baby I didn't mean to make you cry, I know how stressful working is, I had to take over my father's architect business as the boss! But please just start pulling your wait around the house, even if it's just feeding them or changing them or even just putting them to bed while I cleaned up babe it would really help!"
They embraced into an intense hug, Hiccup kissed Astrid on the head and began to change the mood, "Okay then let's get in that black friday queue before we end up camping in the line!" Hiccup turned Astrid's black friday playlist on. Astrid smirked, "you know I will do that!"
They laughed like little kids as they watched their daughter boogey around in her car seat in the rear view mirror.

I really liked writing this modern day twist. And it relates to the time of the year. Merry almost Christmas. Again... please help me out with ideas! 😉
