El felt her heart sink. Max was her soulmate. The girl she couldn't stop thinking about. The girl that she adored. She admired every inch of her. Her red long hair she would play with when they would cuddle, her freckles that painted her cheeks, hey bright eyes and long eyelashes. They girl was perfect in El's eyes. The girl she had kissed in Mikes basement back in November was her soulmate.
The room was silent for a minute, everyone too scared what to say. El and Max were in tears— happy tears of course. Everyone else pretty much just stood in shock.
"Yes! you got your girl Max!" Lucas cheered. Causing everyone else to burst into a fit of laughter .
"Max can I- talk to you?" El asked quietly
Max nodded and the two went into the bathroom.
"So.." El trailed off, not exactly sure what to say.
"El- I really like you. I've liked you for so long and when you kissed me back in november it was amazing. but then you ran and left which confused me. It hurt me, it mad me feel like you didn't want me. Which I understand- you're straight. I'm sure our marks are wrong or something I mean— you don't want to be with me anywa-"
Max was cut off El's lips— again— but it was full of love that time. El's hands were around Max's neck, max's hands were around el's waist. They're lips for perfectly in sync. The kiss was full of passion. The passion they craved from one another for so long, both too afraid to admit it. They lived in a world where most people thought it was wrong for them to love each other, but in that moment that didn't matter. Nothing mattered. It felt like they were the only people on the world. Just them and they're lips discovering each others mouths.
Max pulled away,"wow."
El smiled "yeah, wow."
Just then Dustin came bursting through the door,"This is sweet and everything but I did not spend 2 hours making Max a cake for no one to eat it."
Both girls rolled their eyes,"Dustin why do you have to be such a cock block?" Max whined while exiting the bathroom.
El stood up,"guys what's a cock block?" She asked which made everyone burst into laughter.

The teens where now eating dinner upstairs with Mrs.Wheeler. They didn't plan this of course, but Karen insisted that they all had dinner together. And they weren't gonna turn Chinese food down, especially since they only planned to eat a frozen pizza.
"So Max, it's your 16 birthday correct? Do you know who your soulmate is?" Karen asked
The room went silent, no one knew what to say. They knew who Max's soulmate was but no one had brought it up yet, everyone was too scared to ask. "No, I'm afraid I don't." Max replied, looking down at her food.
El gave Max a confused look.
"Will! Your birthday is coming up as well, do you have your eyes on anyone?" Karen turned her attention to the smaller boy. "Mom you can't ask personal questions like that!" Mike groaned. "I'm only making conversation dear." She replied.
Mike turned to Will, "you don't have to answer- you know if you don't want to." He whispered in Wills ear causing will to only nod his head, showing he understood what Mike meant. "You know I might like someone but I don't think h- SHE will like me back." Will answered, sadness starting to take over him.
Everyone else was surprised will liked someone. He had never mentioned anyone. Thoughts were swarming everyone's head.
The only thought that was going threw Mikes head was "she?"
