school dance [luke X reader]

I was fiddling with my guitar. Normally luke would help me tune it because I'm still a little new to the guitar. I play pretty good, I just have a little trouble with tuning.
But luke and I got in a fight, and now I'm sitting here in the loft, alone, about to smash my guitar into a wall.
I groan in frustration and smack my hand against the wall.
"Hey y/n-" reggie sees my expression and turns around, "nope. Alex can you get her I dont feel like dying and shes less likely to kill you." Reggie says going down the stairs.
Alex walks up the stairs and sees my expression.
"What did he do now?" Alex knows me better than anyone.
"He decided to ask melissa dawn to the dance next week and she said yes. I was fine with this. I even helped him ask her but then I heard her saying really bad things about him. Like how he was a player and didnt care about anyone and how she was just using him to make Xavier jealous. And because I'm a good friend I told him. I told him not to go with her, but he just said I was jealous, which makes no sense by the way because I was fine with him and her going to the dance, and then we got into a big fight and he decided to walk away, which considering hes my ride to and from school left me to walk home on my own." I say all of this really fast and without breathing so it takes Alex a minute. He looks at me and just says,
"You know what screw him!"
I'm about to make a really inappropriate joke about their hot romance in 8th grade and freshman year when he gives me a look that says 'this isnt the time'. As I said, he knows me better than I know myself.
"Do you like him?" He asks me.
"Well I mean yeah. Everyone knows that. Even him, which I'd probably where he got the jealous thing from."
I had told him years ago. I just kind of told him so that he would know and made sure he knew I didnt expect anything from him. Since then we have become closer. I do my best to tell him the truth at all times. Which is why I told him about melissa.
"Okay before you say what I already know and say that I'm being childish, let me explain the whole way through." I nod and he continues.
"We are going to go shopping, we are going to make you look hotter than normal and we are going to make his jaw drop to the floor and his face green with envy."
"So we are going to make him jealous. You know he doesnt like me like that right? That that wouldn't help the situation?"
"Well look at it as making him see that you arent jealous. If you go to the dance with someone, look smokin and have the time of your life without him, without looking at him or thinking of him, then hes sure to see that you arent the least bit jealous of melissa."
"You know that might just work except for the fact that I constantly look like I stepped out of the before picture on those makeover shows and that's no guy in the school would go with me if you paid them a gazillion dollars."
"Well for 1 You are perfection and for two, reggie would go with you."
"Reggie?"
He nods.
"I guess that wouldn't be too bad. I mean going as friends with reggie sounds slightly enjoyable."
"See. Itll be great."
"Fine."

Reggie alex and I were walking to the dance together.
Luke and I hadn't spoken in over a week the guys hadn't spoken to him either. They were on my side. I had good friends. I mean one wasnt exactly winning an award anytime soon but still. I missed him but I wouldn't let myself admit it.
"Ladies first." I joke holding the door open for the boys.
Luke's about to walk in when I close the door.
Am I being petty?
Yes.
Did I have good reason?
Definitely.
Is what I'm doing extremely childish?
Of course.
Reggie and I stop right outside of the doors.
"You two have fun. I'll be by the snacks eating until I either throw up or fill up the hole where my heart should be."
I laugh.
"Dont get too sick, I'm still staying at your house later and i dont feel like dealing with that all night."
He nods smiling.
After he leaves I look down at my dress.
"Are you sure it looks okay?" I ask reggie.
"You look great!" Reggie encourages.
