"I'm nervous." I say nervously.

"You have no reason to be nervous. My parents love you already and they haven't even met you." Luke says, holding my hand as we walk down the hallway.

"But what if they meet me and then like suddenly just don't like me at all."

"That's impossible." Luke says.

"I'm being serious Luke. I want them to like me."

"But even if they don't I will still be here."

"But their opinion matters to you even if you don't wanna admit it."

"No it doesn't."

"Yes it does. Freshman year you wore a baseball cap and your mom didn't like it. You haven't worn a baseball cap ever since." I say.

"I just didn't like the way it made my head look." He says.

I sigh and shake my head.

"I don't wanna be like the baseball cap."

"What does that mean?" Luke says, removing his hand from mine to wrap it around my waist and pull me closer to him.

"It means that I don't wanna be like the base ball cap. You love it and then your parents don't like it so you forget about it and never pay attention to it anymore." I say, gesturing with my hands before stopping at my locker to put in the combination.

"Y/n. That will never ever happen." Luke says, turning me to face him, he places a soft kiss on my lips and repeats "ever."

I nod and give him a small smile.

"I love you." He says, kissing the top of my head.

"I love you too Patterson." I say softly.

"I've gotta get to class but I'll pick you up tonight at six okay?"

"Okay love." He gives me one last kiss before heading to class.

I turn back to my locker before hearing my best friends familiar voice say, "you two are sickening."

I turn to look at the blonde boy, a smile on my face.

"You're just jealous." I tease.

"Damn right I'm jealous. I want a relationship like that too but i still find you two nauseating." Alex says, resting his head on the lockers.

I smile and roll my eyes.

Luke has one hand on the steering wheel and one on my thigh, driving through the streets smoothly.

"You still nervous?"

"A little."

"It's okay baby, I just know they'll love you." He says, looking at me briefly before looking back at the road again.

"I hope so." I say as we pull into the drive way.

Luke opens the door to the house and takes my coat.

"Mom! We're here!" He calls, leading me into the living room.

"Oh hi! I'm Mitch." An older man says to me from an arm chair by the couch.

"Y/n." I smile, shaking his hand.

"It's very nice to meet you y/n. Luke talks about you so much I feel as if I already know you." He smiles.

"He's talked a lot about you guys too." I smile, sitting next to Luke on the couch.

"All good things I hope."
