Rebekah sat, relaxed in the Mikaelson mansion as she had her nails manicured on the leather sofa by a compelled human. Isa sat next to her, head back and eyes closed as she had her feet massaged before being pedicured by more compelled humans. Kol and Finn were both in the room as they had the most immaculate tuxedos fitted.
"Rebekah, tell me how handsome I am," Kol said as he stared at himself in the mirror, standing atop a small dais as a tailor observed the cut of his pants.
"Oh, Kol you know I can't be compelled," Rebekah snarked as she gazed at her nails, blowing on them. Finn laughed, as did Isa who had been unmoving as her feet were rubbed. Kol was still unamused but he didn't give up.
"Isa, darling? How good do I look?" Kol asked as he watched her from where she sat in the mirror.
She didn't even open her eyes as she answered, "Dashing."
"You didn't even look at me," Kol frowned. Isa smiled but stayed where she was. "Darling are you ok?" he asked turning.
She opened her eyes at that. "I don't know. Weird stuff has been happening with me lately. Headaches, dizzy spells, I cry a lot. I got so angry, I almost killed Elijah the other day. And now, my feet are so sore, that I am tempted to wear flats tonight," she explained, and Rebekah looked at her in shock.
"Something is wrong. Because never, in the 300 years since heels have been around, have you worn anything else," Rebekah explained.
"Precisely," Isa agreed, and then Klaus walked in, a small smile on his face.
"I heard you went after Elena, little sister," he praised. "Nice work."
Isa smacked Rebekah's arm lightly. "Why didn't you tell me?! You know how I'd love to kill that doppelganger wench!"
"Well, it's not like I did. Elijah stopped me. Mother's rules and all," Rebekah defended as Klaus flopped onto the sofa next to Isa, his arm instantly going around her shoulders.
"What a killjoy," Isa remarked as she snuggled into her husband. And then, said killjoy appeared, as a human offered Elijah various shoe options for the coming evening.
"I heard my name," he said as he inspected them.
"Ah yes, brother," Kol confirmed as he turned back around, and his suit was fitted around the cuffs of his pants. "We heard you ruined Rebekah's fun by stopping her from killing the doppelganger."
Elijah gave a smile. "Yes, well, Mother set rules and I intend to see them followed. Even where Elena is concerned because I do want us to be a family again."
"Oh, don't tell me you're still hooked on that other doppelganger wench from a thousand years ago?" Kol asked tiredly.
Klaus glared at Kol for bringing up Tatia in front of Isa who had stiffened in his arms the second Elijah walked into the room.
"Look, let's just drop it ok? I have to go and get fitted to make sure that I outshine you all," Rebekah interjected before leaving for her room, her manicurist following as that was the person who was going to alter her dress.
It was as she left that Isa's pedicurist said, "You are finished, Miss Isa. Would you like your fitting now as well?"
Isa gazed down at the French tip that had been painted on her toes. "Yes, might as well," she said but before she could move to stand her husband scooped her up as she yelped in surprise. Their brothers just smiled at the two of them, Elijah included. Even though they all had their own issues, there was something utterly hopeful and radiant about watching the couple together. It was an intoxicating feeling as if they'd gotten drunk on happiness that echoed throughout the room.
